You got any idea when the next course is and where ?
If you mean where will the trainee driver course be taught then all of them start in Glasgow with induction for externals, then internals join the class for 3 months doing rules and a couple of other things.

Hi all. First time poster although I have been reading through the thread for a while - been very helpful so thank you all!

I had my DMI 1st August and had notification today that I am in talent pool. Just curious if anyone has any feed back on this with regards to being progressed to next stage within the 6 months? Or not hearing back after the 6 months?

I am guessing being in the pool is a good thing as still in the running? Just a bit sceptical with the amount of applicants abd the amount of spaces that will come up within the 6 months.

Any info appreciated!

A lot of us on here, including me, were initially put in the reserve pool after the DMI.

Within a few weeks I was invited to the next stage. I think that's the case for the majority, though there are others that have been waiting far longer than I was...i don't know why though.

Be patient. Chances are you won't be in the reserve pool for long.

I've received the same email. Hopefully we hear within the 6 month period. I'm not sure what will happen after the 6 months.

Still waiting on outcome from initial application with May closing date, emailed scotrail and they said applications are still being looked at.....anyone else still waiting?
Yes, nothing yet. I believe it was 12 weeks after the closing date for notifications, if nothing heard by the end of August it's been unsuccessful.

Thanks Boris for the message.
Sorry for all the questions everyone but I've got one more. I'm wondering if someone in the know could clarify for me.......
According to Abellio website Scotrail currently operates 346 stations (not including Glasgow Central, Lockerbie, Waverley, Dunbar & Prestwick. 351 in total (seems a bit outdated.
Wikipedia saying similar but operating 352 stations.
Office of Rail&Road dataporteal.gov website Scotrail Key stats fact sheet 2018-2019 are saying 354.

Abellio website scotrail factsheet are also saying the current fleet is 427 emu and 369 dmu.
I just want to make sure I have the correct numbers if asked. Thanks all in advance.

I wouldn't get too concerned with exact figures. Just say approximately 350 or what ever. Chances are your interviewer wouldn't know exact numbers and approximately is fine.

I was thinking that aswell, just wanted to run it by this forum first since it's been so useful.
What about the rolling stock numbers though as I was told previously on this forum 393 but Abellio website is saying 427 emu and 369 dmu. A bit of a difference there.
Sorry to be a pain

And scroll to rolling stock scroll across says numbers I just added them all up to get my total..
Is where I got my fleet number from, I just added the amount of each class of train and scrolled down to future fleet and added them in also- thats how I counted up the 393 trains.. its the most accurate I could find.

Same here, reserve pool for six months - bit disappointing but it's reassuring to see there are so many people on the forum who've been in the pool and progressed eventually - hopefully we'll be the same and get the call forward in due course

Hi folks. I got the talent pool email today too. My DMI was end of June. Some people are saying they’re disappointed but my guess is this talent pool is how they keep tabs with everyone at various stages of the process. Bottom line is we’ve passed the DMI and still in the mix. Onto the next one

Hi everyone
I'm wondering if anyone has any insider info. I applied for a trainee train driver job with abellio Glasgow closing date 31 May 2019. On the application it said that if I hadn't heard after 3 months I could assume I was unsuccessful. There are only two weeks to go! I can see on here that lots of people have had interviews (congratulations to you all) over differing time scales. Does anyone know if there is still a chance of an interview or if they have offered everyone places by now and does anyone know how many places were up for grabs and how many people applied.

Ta much

Ok cheers, well done anyway, you've done really well to get through so quick; all the best for the MMI mate.

Thanks mate appreciate it, never thought I would get this far first time but now I think I can do it plus you always have to back yourself and feel confident to get any job and be positive cause when you start letting the nervouness and pressure get to you that's when you start to crumble suppose it kinda sorts out the weak from the strong if you get where I'm coming from. I submitted my application last week of may assessment on the 3rd of July and then DMI 1 if August and now end if August 2nd assessment so yeah it's been relatively quick for me.
