I've woke up this morning to see the various news stories about First Trenitalia are to take over the west coast franchise from Virgin on the 8th December 2019.
I recently applied for one of Virgin's vacancies based in the north west - the closing date was last week. Does anyone know if their recruitment will be frozen now?
I've also been looking at the careers page for Grand Central who I'm lead to believe where commencing a new London to Blackpool service in March 2020. I take it they will operate alongside First Trenitalia?
Trenitalia in the U.K. will be operated by First Group who are also responsible for Transpennine Express and a handful of other TOCs. It might be worth just regularly checking the First Group careers page over the coming months to see if Trenitalia recruit new staff although I would assume existing Virgin employees will ultimately make the transition to their new employers and fill 90+% of the roles anyway.
