I'm looking to get a season ticket from Lytham to Manchester Pic @ £128.40 weekly.

To give me some sort of flexibility for when the South Fylde line goes belly up, is it possible to get the season ticket to be made valid from Blackpool North but still use it on the Blackpool South trains?

Cost of a season ticket from Blackpool North, Blackpool South and Lytham is the same.

See these threads (there may be more; I just did a quick search):

The source is experience. My season ticket is to/from Blackpool North and I travel to/from Blackpool South. Also, with my other half when leaving from Blackpool South, you can get tickets provided FROM Blackpool North when travelling from South and vice versa South tickets being valid with the gateline staff at Blackpool North.

Officially, since the "Blackpool BR" group was abolished, tickets are not interchangeable but in practice, reports are (or at least were) that staff do treat them as inter-available. Perhaps @boing_uk can give us an update, if they are still using this ticket!

I left Blackpool in 2012, but have occasionally travelled there by train since.

Last time in 2017, North and South were fine either way and my south ticket worked through north barriers.

Enquired about Zero excess years ago and was told not necessary.

May have changed since 2017 though as Northern have changed a lot of things...
