Transdev are claiming they're now the 'Green Bus company' in their PR because of their mods fitted to their B7s to reduce emissions, so it seems this is the actual green bus companys way of retaliating, by using red buses...
Trandev have been doing that for some time - the previous WYRCC liveried Omnicity caused confusion and at the end of the day if someone tries to get on a red Connexions bus with a Transdev pass its only going to cause delays. It was bad enough explaining to visitors a "Harrogate Bus Company" ticket could not be used on green buses with Harrogate Bus Company on them now its a case of you can use a red bus but not if got a green rear!

It’s been pretty standard for years where they’d just overpaint a part of the acquired livery in green, leaving the rest as is. There used to be various in green Stagecoach swoops, or green first barbie.

That may the case but some green on the front could have been added - the one problem that could well arise is someone asking for a day ticket on one and then trying to use it on a 36. Suspect the main winner in this will be Transdevs lawyers.

Seems the De-Press is at it again
https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/17...aims/?action=success#comments-feedback-anchor

Yet they Haven't mentioned the amount of times that First TPX have stranded passengers at Malton.

Seems fair reporting to me.
Somebody in management must have been aware this would happen, earlier in the day, but clearly did little about it.

Three quarter page advert in yesterday's Yorkshire Post - 'Welcome to Coastliner Country amazing buses 7 days a week for Scarborough, Whitby, Pickering & THe Moors'

Here's an unbranded one... There's at least two with X1 route branding

You can certainly see how people will be confused!

They are an independent local operator though, and clearly don't have the same funds and facilities as their competitors. I'd much prefer an independent operator to be running a bus in a non standard livery as apposed to not having one. Alway found local independents to be some of the more friendly of operators.

I agree. And despite the similarities to Harrogate's colours, at least CX have put their own touch on it.

Despite the amount of flak they get I really do like the CX fleet and how it's presented.

Looks as though the Knaresborough Road Bus War is far from over though!

I appreciate that they haven’t the funds to perhaps effect a full repaint etc. However, they could have painted the front rather than the rear.

You could easily see a complaint from Transdev and it being upheld on the basis of “passing off”. It would be the same if Transdev used some ex Keighley stuff in green round Harrogate.

There were complaints of that nature when Keighley depot ran the 62 between Harrogate and Keighley, along the same route as CX's X52.

Connexions route branded the X52 with a vehicle in all over white which was a bit of a shot in the foot with that issue.

If bustimes tracking is reporting vehicles correctly none of the red vehicles are currently in use - 3 Omnicities and an ex Reading Solar being shown on the X1.
Transdev York have won a number of York City Council tenders - 14 currently operated by First, 19 currently with Reliance and the 24,25,26 currently worked by Arriva.

EDIT - Apparently its Saturday journeys on the 19 that Transdev will work; Mon-Fri it remains with Reliance.

I think Reliance are going to run the Mon-Fri service commercially.

City of York Council have recently retendered the majority of their supported services.
I understand there will be some operator changes:
21 - From Connexions to York Pullman
10 (M-S eve) - From Transdev to First
24/25/26 - From Arriva to Transdev

Slight update, not affecting who's running what.
The 10 evening service will be run commercially by First.

All they've done is paint the blue bit of the GNE corporate livery in green. They've even left the GNE stickers along the roofline. It's not really passing off. I know Alex is petty, we saw that in Nottingham, but I'd hope he's not that petty.

For anyone interested, Connexions are advertising on Facebook that they will be using their Leyland National on a dupe of the 21 in York on the afternoon of Saturday afternoon of the final day of them operating the service. Times:
13:05 York Stonebow > Colton
14:00 Colton > Foss Island
15:01 Foss Island > Colton
16:00 Colton > York Stonebow
17:05 York Stonebow > Colton

To be fair, it's a predominantly red bus and especially as regards the front of it. Confusion wouldn't be too difficult to imagine. As I said before, if Transdev were running a Keighley green bus in front of Connexions, the point would be equally valid.

Comedy value returns as Connexions twitter account is working again. The first two tweets you get obviously nothing to do with its services are retweets showing Transdev in a bad light; the B7RLE that caught fire recently and a 36 jumping a red light - the latter is you look at the thread that follows clearly shows the matter was taken seriously by Transdev.

Apparently it’s a fake account?

That account has reposted Connexions drivers on their phones behind the wheel
Are you sure it's by Connexions themselves?

It's a parody account, presumably Connexions weren't clever enough to keep the twitter handle to stop that happening.

Transdevs new web site is apparently going to launched shortly. The current Harrogate site has a large list of changes coming up at the end of September during the UCI cycling championships. http://www.harrogatebus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=2794
Sat 21st is the day of biggest disruption with the 1D, 8, 21 and 24 not running at all; while between 10 and 5 the 7 is chopped into two routes with no service between the Harrogate bypass and Wetherby, the 36 only operating between Leeds and Harrogate and the 1B and 1C limited to the Knaresborough estates sections of their routes while the 1A will be diverted although a 7 minute service will still operate between Harrogate and the stop prior to Starbeck depot. There is no mention re the 22/23, neither on the York site, so it will be interesting to see if they operate part of their routes or not at all, previous cycle events have seen NYCC withdraw all subsided services regardless of the fact a large section of the route could still be operated and which probably explains why the 1D is not operating at all.

Connexions do have at least one of the red vehicles on the X1 today but bustimes is reporting otherwise so they are obviously using unaltered ticket machines off Omnicities, and probably are going swop the yearless reg plates from those onto the red vehicles. Nothing yet from Connexions on what services they will be operating on the 21st but they are probably rubbing their hands that Transdev will only be running a half hourly service between Harrogate and Knaresborough.

Harrogate - Starbeck 28 day or Pay Monthly subscription
new price £37

Anyone see this ticket in the app anywhere? The weekly one is showing the new price of £11 but I can't see the new monthly option anywhere!
