If you mean the Sleeper, I think it finished in about 1991, so before privatisation, and the daytime Barrow-Euston (if there ever was one at all) probably even longer ago.

I remember well seeing the Alphaline trains into Waterloo, and an Anglia Crosslink 170 rushing through West Hampstead (shortly proceeded by an empty stock GNER Eurostar from North Pole) when at the point 8 year old me had a heart attack.

I remember a Birmingham New Street - Fishguard Harbour service (use to be 08:58 from BHM), usually a Class 158. Only ever did it once when I lived in Coventry (short hop to Brum on a Class 310

There use to be some random routes from Coventry via Leicester; Skegness, Nottingham, Sheffield, Worksop, Grimsby Town etc
