Yes the livery is on 222104. Looks better than I thought but I've still seen better.

The front kinda looks like it's moved to CrossCountry already. Regardless, it looks alright, although I think I still prefer the EMT livery.

Do the Meridians not comply with the new rule about yellow front ends, or rather not needing one? Sorry, I can't remember what it's called but it's something to do with the brightness of the headlights?

It might not be to everyone's taste but think it looks quite smart. I always thought the EMT livery looked a bit like a children's colouring book!

The livery looks very good in my opinion. I hope 222104 is out and about on Wednesday.

The removal of the yellow fronts would require a headlight upgrade. Which basically means removal of the traditional bulb and replaced with a (very bright) LED.

In my opinion what could look a professional and nice livery is 100% ruined by the front being yellow.
It needs to be yellow: the headlights don’t meet the current standard which allows the yellow to be dispensed with.

I completely disagree with those saying the yellow front ruins it, I think it looks fantastic.

Re the yellow front, once you are on the train you won't see it, and I seriously doubt anyone has ever in the history of yellow fronts ever decided "I was all for catching the train but the yellow front upsets me so much I can't bring myself to use it".

It'll be interesting to see it out tomorrow in the daylight without the masking tape to get the full effect. Can't help thinking it'll look dull on the 99% of days when the great British weather persists down. Funny, I remember when "enthusiasts" hated BR all-over blue because it was dull, even the great Sir Peter Parker decided to paint all passenger carrying stock in two-tone blue-grey to brighten up things, yet today "enthusiasts" get all excited about a new monotone livery like GWR or this EMR "aubergine" and decry brighter liveries.

Nowt so inconsistent as enthusiasts.

The yellow front ruins it completely.

The yellow is unbalanced so I think only one side has been done in that pic.

The livery in my view looks awful on modern stock like that. It's not a "modernised classic" like GWR British Racing Green, it's an old fashioned livery. It's the bodyside band that kills it; something similar to GWR green but with the purple with modern elements (like the GWR matt diagonal stripes) would work.

The branding is also horribly dated (again unlike GWR).

Nice to see this - tho think I'd have been happier if my 158 from Liverpool today had had any interior cleaning whatsoever.....really messy, one lav out of order, finger marks and muck all over window interiors, crisps on seats and floor worse.
Not an example of how to make good first impressions...

Not even 10% of the original MML 222 livery. Think the most positive thing I can say is that it's functional. Dull also comes to mind. Even intercity blue & grey has more going on than this.

Have they done anything to the interior? Many 222s have threadbare seats, ingrained dirt and the seals on the windows are knackered leading to condensation between the panes of glass (thanks to repeated franchise extensions and no incentive to invest in the refurb these units now deserve)

No idea. They haven't had much time so I'm guessing at the moment they haven't. I believe it only went into the paint shop 2 or 3 days ago.
Nottingham has EMR information point signage.
