Are there going to be further north-south routes added to Thameslink at the December timetable change?
Just Weekends and 2nd Littlehampton from memory, anything more than that needs ATO used by all services as much as possible first and there are plenty of challenges joining the remaining GN to Kents (depots, stabling, driver training). Are there going to be further north-south routes added to Thameslink at the December timetable change?
Tall order to sort Ashford stabling in time - they only got planning permission a few weeks ago and the compulsory purchase is going to be a big argument to come...If the services to Maidstone/Ashford don't happen in December they'll have to change all the route map posters on the 700s, which have that route on it as from Dec 19.
It'll be easier to train the drivers up for the routes than it will to change the posters. If the services to Maidstone/Ashford don't happen in December they'll have to change all the route map posters on the 700s, which have that route on it as from Dec 19.
And of course in the 2017 plans (before the extra "phasing") these were due to start running in Dec 2018 so they've been a bit slow!Tall order to sort Ashford stabling in time - they only got planning permission a few weeks ago and the compulsory purchase is going to be a big argument to come...
Doesn't anything more also need the Traffic Management System too? I haven't seen anything about the progress on that since early 2018 when it was behind schedule (and obviously not the priority at the time)Just Weekends and 2nd Littlehampton from memory, anything more than that needs ATO used by all services as much as possible first and there are plenty of challenges joining the remaining GN to Kents (depots, stabling, driver training).
Extra peak TL services would of course be very useful for the Kings Cross works...
