I have a load of apps & websites I use on my mobile to help me on my travels what do you use? I use train operators apps and split ticketing engines for journey planning, Real Time Trains, Open Train Times, Traksky, Journeycheck and Tiger for real time info all of which are very helpful.

Where the 3rd rail powers the trains
When I am at a station I will use the DMIs available in the first instance. If that does not yeild the information I require then I will use the NRE app's live trains feature or if the train has not started its journey yet then the planner.

If I am on a train then I'll use RTT to get a more detailed idea of where the train is.

If I am planning an Underground journey in London I will use the TFL website.

LoCo2 for great cashback (15% at the moment).
ScotRail for convenience of "Tap"
SeatFrog for cheap upgrades.
TfL for London
TfE for Edinburgh
OxonTime for Oxford
PickMeUp for Oxford

Also Amtrak and 6 others for my regular US trips

Sites I may use on the day of a journey:

CC LDB to check live train running
Tiger live departure boards to see train length (in particular if going for an XC service)
Journeycheck is another source for XC in case there are any clues as to which trains are/aren't HSTs.
Open Train Times maps to see where trains are, if I want to see a detailed view, else Traksy if I want an overview of a larger area, or for an area not covered by OTT
FastJP for journey planning (especially when I am using Northern only tickets as I don't know of any other journey planner that handles that)

I kind of wish I'd actually called it Traksky now, it's got a lovely ring to it!
