I have struggled a bit here - how to get from the Great Central Main Line to the North Midland. Killamarsh Junctions seem to be the only possibility - so ...

Would another option have been to have carried on along the Great Central Railway Main Line from Killamarsh Central on to Beighton, then reversed down the North Midland Railway to Killamarsh West?

I think that would have been more accurate. The junctions here were very complicated and changed a lot between about 1896 and 1910.

You chose well....
