Planning a trip to Brussels on December 6.

Eurostar.com will offer me a train at 0647, 0855, 1258, 1504, 1804 and 1934. The 1058 and 1104 are not listed, despite being in the timetable.

Punch in London - Amsterdam, and the 1104 appears, which according to the timetable stops in Brussels.

What’s going on?

I think they only offer the Dutch train to those destinations, then if it hasn't filled up within a certain time they open it up for Brussels as well.

It seems odd to block out the 1058 and 1104 (why the 1058 though?) as these connect well with the 1425 ICE into Germany.

To save us both looking up previous threads: the 1104 has so far been opened for bookings to Brussels about 2 months beforehand, and there have always been seats at tolerable prices. Obviously they want to see how it loads for Amsterdam, as it is the obvious leisure departure.
It changed from 1058 in June.

Ahhh excellent thanks, clearly it's so long since I consulted a traditional timetable I forgot to read the notes.

I don't think that would be a good move. They'd lose customers in a market they're trying to increase if 35 went to £45. The odd person getting off at Brussels to save a few quid won't bother them at this stage.

This is the same scenario for the unmentioned 07:16 (9I12) and 17:16 (9I50). Bookings to Rotterdam/Amsterdam open first, Brussels available later.

For Belgian travellers, they can book Brussels - Rotterdam/Amsterdam as an alternative to NS Intercity or Thalys. But for the 11:04 (9I26) which stops at Lille, you can't book from Lille to the Netherlands.

When booking a combined UK-DE ticket through Deutsche Bahn(no longer available as of November 2019), they allowed you to book the London Brussels segment on this train even though it wasn't available from eurostar.com
