Say for example, your first day is next Monday and pay day is the following Friday would you receive a weeks pay or have to wait until the following pay day. I’m assuming it’s monthly or every 4 weeks.

Think I can guess the answer but I have my start date and am just trying to make sure I have finances in order for any small period without a wage, as I have direct debits going out on all different dates, and will be going from weekly to monthly pay, if indeed that’s how northern pay.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

It’s four weekly pay so the pay date moves you soon get used to though I much prefer it to salary and we get paid 13 times a year.

Upcoming pay dates.

Sept 6th, Oct 4th, Nov 1st, Nov 29th, Dec 27th

I’m pretty sure we don’t work any advance, but could be wrong it was a while ago since I started.

Thanks that helps massively. Especially the dates you’ve provided, means I can work what’s what with my current job pay and final pay etc.

I work for a different TOC but my pay dates are the same, our payroll cut off dates are a week before payday, so might be worth checking as that maybe the case, so basically if you started this week, you wouldn’t get paid on on Friday.

What role are you doing and when is your start date?

You work a week in hand. Northern pay on a 4 weekly cycle giving 13 pay dates per year.
