Yes standard class is at the rear.

Standard class was at the front last night and I was delighted to be right behind the support carriage and could hear Mayflower working very hard. Our carriage was rammed and it was a very pleasant atmosphere. Very pleasant route when enjoyed with champagne and a picnic.

Only negatives were the Surrey Hills being in total darkness but that's my fault for not booking an earlier date. Also there was no free booklet like you do on Railway Touring Company trains. You could buy a far less detailed one for £3 but it was about the Windsor trains not the Surrey Hills one.

All in all would highly recommend it to anybody fancying mainline steam at a reasonable price and not lasting all day.

There was definitely a £3 pamphlet covering the round trip earlier in the season, I bought it. I thought it was quite good, it gave a route map and timings for the whole loop.

Well its all over for this year (2019).

Hopefully this will be replicated in 2020.

As I said in another message, I travelled on the Windsor service and was delighted with my journey.
