Keen to get some photos if the units are still there on Friday morning. Are they in the stabling point adjacent to Didcot Station, or are they further round the bend (Didcot Yard ?), in which case a Didcot to Oxford stopper would help.

Any info greatly appreciated.

They are further round the bend but visible from the station but they could get blocked out of view it a freight train stables on the adjacent road.

Does anyone know why the move yesterday got cancelled at Didcot?

Here are two poor quality pics I took when I went past Didcot yesterday. They were still there around 5pm when I went back too.

I was about to say it’s not triggered yet (cancelled is where I place my bet!)

Any ideas why as shown on RTT it’s doing a trip via Reading West just to get back to Didcot?

Confused RTT. It looks like it’s applying the current eastbound passes to the planned westbound calls. Happens sometimes, someone might know why. Note the passing times are being filled in up the page...

Definitely didn’t come on to the depot. When I walked down to the Station from the depot earlier it was sat in P15 waiting the road westwards.
Loco must have used the underpass, reversed at Reading Southern Jn and ran through 13 then reversing on the Up Passenger Loop to drop back into 15.

...and now back into P15? Must have been about running round the stock, but couldn’t that have been done at Didcot?

The way the track is configured at Didcot means that you can only run round in the station by coming out of the sidings at the east end and then propel back into the station (or propel out of the sidings and then head west without a runround). I doubt that propelling is allowed with this move so the run to Reading to run round is the only feasible option.

Thanks for the explanation, I guess the facilities at Didcot are not as flexible as I thought.
