You could have always done Reddish South to Denton, it's the other way round you wouldn't have been able to do.
Sorry, got it the wrong way around!

Bowling to Bat and Ball
I was on the 1642 once and a family got off at Peartree. Considering they has suitcase's I would assume the journey was a bit further than just Derby to Peatree.I wonder which would be the least made ticket purchase between the following:
Derby to Peartree or Peartree to Derby?
In the spring I returned home on a Galway (CIV) to Appledore (Kent) sail rail ticket, the conductor on Marshlink said he'd never seen one before and would I mind if he took a photo of it so nothing much has changed!During the last war when he was a soldier, my dad travelled from Castlewellan in the Six Counties to Margate: the ticket collector at Margate looked somewhat curiously at the ticket issued by the Belfast and County Down Railway.
I have travelled between these 2 stations by train before (though I was not going to the place itself only the stations)Thorne North and Thorne South?
If I'm interpreting the question correctly - "are there any two stations with a direct train between them where no-one has ever travelled between that particular pair", I'd say very probably yes.Upon starting this thread, I never thought that there would be hundreds, if not thousands of station pairs that fall into this category. It would be interesting to take things one step further and find out if there are any pairs of stations that DO have a direct rail service between them.
No-one can buy a ticket between Ash Vale and North Camp as no fare exists. Anyone know of any other pairs of stations in the same situation?
Well, the Penzance to Wick First Class Open Return, famously used in the media as an example of how expensive train tickets are, has equally famously never been sold.
A better example might be Aylesbury or Bicester Village to Milton Keynes Central...
Many years ago I would go Kempston Hardwick when the level crossing was manually operated. The Xings keeper would allow me and my mates to close the gates and work the signals from the small frame. On reflection he was using us as cheap labour but we didn't mind one bit.I bet nobody has ever done Dolwyddelan or Kempston Hardwick to Altnabreac. And it's a bit pricey to buy it for a laugh.
That aside, I doubt anyone has ever done Burscough Bridge to Burscough Junction. There are fares (I guess you'd go via Preston and Wigan, they aren't outrageously priced, either), but it's about 10 minutes' walk.

It seems to me that a £5 Anytime Day Return Tyndrum Stations - Crianlarich is an appropriate ticket for a single journey between the 2 Tyndrum stations.BRfares suggests there aren't any tickets between the 2 Tyndrum stations.

On the Northern network, there have been some trains which follow weird and wonderful routes. There may be only one through train per day, which runs for the TOC's operational convenience, not because of any logical passenger flow. These trains can appear & disappear with each timetable iteration....
Whyteleafe to Upper Warlingham?
