Was driving back into Livingston today and saw a Scania Omnidekka on the 27 is this on loan or a transfer in?

I may be in a minority, but the Omnidekkas were amongst my favourite buses we’ve had in Livingston so hoping its permanent.

Yes, a load of them were sent to Larbert after Bannockburn no longer required them due to surrendering school contracts earlier in the year.

I travelled on 36011 the other day , nice comfy ride , then the heavens opened and the rain started pouring in around the drivers cab ,comments from passengers boarding Saying it was coming in from the cab light over the ticket machine ( which had a bit of carpet surrounding it ) so I’m trying to think did these have the destination equipment changed at any point maybe disturbing the seals ?

Service registrations going in today. X10/X10A have been accepted, The 29 will be retained to Bathgate. Also it looks like they're not axing the X3, but rather merging it in to the X35/X36/X37. More are going through as i type this, so i'll edit the post if anything further of interesting appears.

Merging it how? The X3 goes a different route from the X35

By having the X35/X36/X37 cover it's route?...

The new registration doesn't follow the same route as the X3. I guess we will see soon enough what the change is meant for. Think it's extra peak capacity if anything or a Sunday service as the X35 doesn't currently have one

We're been told what the changes are.

Bus service X35 - Falkirk - Bonnybridge - Kilsyth - Condorrat - Muirhead - Glasgow
Bus service X37 - Falkirk - Bonnybridge - Cumbernauld - Condorrat - Muirhead - Glasgow
  • Minor timetable changes introduced to address punctuality.

Bus service X36 - Stirling - Denny - Cumbernauld - Condorrat – Glasgow
  • This frequency on service X36 will be reduced from the current 30 minutes to 60 minutes
Also has the council paid for the daytime service to Bathgate?

Not sure about the 29 but with the X35 why would they need 2 registrations for the same service if it was only timetable changes? Especially given the Cumbernauld to Glasgow one is brand new

Didn’t think the current x35 had 2 registered just for the Cumbernauld to Glasgow journey so why now . Is that normal ? As one is part supported and the Cumbernauld to Glasgow isn’t

F29 is for certain journeys before this registration. Who knows if they paid it to go to Bathgate or not, sometimes the route text doesn't get updated on the registration for some reason.

Could be that or they're starting peak ones from there and it's for that or a Sunday service from there. First time I've noticed 2 different registrations for the same service though. I'm guessing we will find out soon enough what they've done to it

The council already pays for evening and sunday service so I think that bit is safe.

Its the Saturday only one. Ie the early morning runs paid for SPT around 7 and 8am.

Ah okay makes sense. Surprised they don't put them all through there giving First a link to Cumbernauld minus the Craiglinn Interchange itself from Banton/Kilsyth etc

I checked the CSV file and the second X35 is for Saturdays only.

Yeah makes sense. Surprised I completely forgot about those early morning altered journeys. I remember the 4B used to have 2 that started at Cumbernauld instead of Croy on a Saturday but I can't remember if it was registered separately

Some new changes on VOSA for West Lothian services guys
None of them are First Midland Bluebird routes so why mention it on this thread? Or perhaps this thread should be given the name First Midland Bluebird and Scotland East instead.

I've never seen a thread specifically for West Lothian tbh

I suggested before renaming this thread but the original poster refused to change it.

Yeah would make sense to change it. I've always seen Scotland as having 3 operations tbh. Aberdeen with it's own forum then Glasgow and this forum for Stirling/Falkirk and Livingston

"First Scotland East Survival" would be a better name for this thread given that FSE is not only the legal name for the West Lothian services but also the collective name for the whole division. Whereas Midland Bluebird is just the legal name for the Falkirk/Stirling/Balfron opcos.

On top of this too Livingston has came up as a topic of discussion a few times even just since I've been on here so would be the most sensible thing to do

And for some reason the tickets on Midland Bluebird services print out as First Scotland East, so do contactless transactions. Never really got that one.
