I thought Booths were having a share of the business... seems that all recent scrap movements have been going to Newport

Ah no, I wanted one last photo and ride on 122. So this will leave only one ex-Silverlink 134?

Yes, with 122. It leaves 134 as the last ex Silverlink unit to feature the original low back seating.
134 remains the last named unit - 'City of London'

Talk of 313 scraping makes me feel old, I remember Mk1 suburban loco hauled being scraped to make way for the 313s.

While the above sees most of the remaining PM Peak 313 workings to the Hertford Loop, in theory (let me know if I have this wrong) this should still give a run of five consecutive departures from WGC to Moorgate - across the height of the Morning Peak for the next few days at least, that remain pairs of 313s - specifically:

0738 (diagram HE64) 2K28
0754 (HE62) 2K31
0808 (HE51) 2K34
0824 (HE71) 2K37
0838 (HE54) 2K40

However, these have been disrupted the last two mornings, with 2K28 being worked by a 717 yesterday (Monday 10th September) and all sorts of displacement this morning - 2K37 was cancelled after the inward working from Moorgate (which was 313s) was 30 + minutes late and there were two pairs of 313s on Hornsey and another pair in WGC sidings (both viewed from 365504 and 365514 working 1R11 0812 Baldock - King's Cross...

For some reason it doesn’t feel “right” seeing 313s scrapped. Up until now only a very small handful of sliding-door fleets have been scrapped, mainly well away from the London area.

3 x 313 moved over from Hornsey to Ferme Park overnight. The move was 5Q01

313033 + 047 + 060

It’s worth nothing that 033 was still in service on the 10/09, it’s last services being 2F70 22:40 Moorgate - Hertford North & 5E72 23+34 Hertford North - Hornsey EMUD

This morning 313061 and 313134 are working 2K37 0824 Welwyn Garden City to Moorgate and 313051 with 313052 are following on 2K40 0838 WGC to Moorgate. These are diagrams HE71 and 54 respectively. Hope this helps someone...

Can also confirm that 2K31 0754 ex WGC was a pair of 313s

Looked like 2 x 313 sets in the down side Waterworks sidings at Hornsey as we stormed past on the up fast on a HST. Probably the next ones to go to their maker......

These are the pairs I've seen working today
313051+052 313030+049
313039+057 313048+037
and 313134+061.

Had a few hours at Hornsey so decided to
do a video.

Plenty of 717s working

Just walked straight into my final London 313- 313059 (with052), on the 0813 from Moorgate.

Was beginning to think I might never get it.

I know that Southern still use them anyway. But I guess there isn’t much excitement about them to preserve them either. GN would be crazy not to keep at least 2 at Hornsey until the 717s get at least as reliable as what they replace. Although I suspect that may be covered by not running to Stevenage or adding the extra Gordon Hill - Moorgate services promised in the “consultation”.

Problem with preserving them is no heritage line can use them due to no power supply and if you preserved them for mainline use where do you keep them?

This morning has 52 and 59 on 2K37 from Welwyn Garden City and they will be followed by 61 and 134 on 2K40 0838 ex WGC. 51 is on the rear of 2B30 0835 Moorgate to Hertford North, the ECS from 2K31 0754 WGC - Moorgate was also 313s, but couldn’t see which..

I managed a couple of fairly bad photos of pairs passing the very pleasant Waterford Marsh and the adjacent Waterford Heath Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust reserve yesterday. These lie either side of the Hertford Loop, about 2 miles north of Hertford North towards Watton At Stone. Good numbers of butterflies still in evidence and enjoyable walking between the trains in the late summer sun. Can anyone identify the pair I photographed working (I think) 2J69 1628 Stevenage to Moorgate?
