Yeah had it for a while in our local Tesco then it stopped.
I’ve 7 bottles in the fridge now chilling nicely.
BBQ this afternoon & by tonight the fridge will need replenishing.
I’m down in Devon next week & last year I found cans of Korev in the local Sainsbury’s 6 for £5.
Fingers crossed they still stock it otherwise it’s the local tarka lager.
Not a bad drink but it’s no Korev.

Strictly off-topic as this is not a supermarket, but a colleague of mine took the attached photo in one of 3(!) aisles in the Beers of Europe store in Kings Lynn.

Their mail order service is excellent as I can confirm from using them for the Eurovision Song Contest drinking game.
1. Acquire a bottle of beer from as many participating Eurovision countries as possible
2. Invite friends for the night of the final
3. Drink the beer while the song of the relevant country plays on the screen
4. Repeat until it becomes necessary to "pause live TV" for biological and logistical reasons*
I should add that in our house each 330/500/660mL bottle is shared between 2 or more drinkers otherwise blindness and/or death would occur. You only have 3 minutes plus the introduction to the next song to get each beer served and drunk. Even sharing, the pace is relentless and with 26 competing finalists a hangover is guaranteed.

*Our record, song 19

Aldi have a very very good regular selection of beers from breweries including Williams Bros, Fallen, Drygate, Harviestoun and so on. As these are all within ~50 miles of me, I assume they have a similarly local selection elsewhere.

Then maybe 3 or 4 times a year they have a "beer festival" with a huge selection of less common beers (again all Scottish, so I presume there's similar elsewhere in the country)

Very excited this morning, having a day trip to the Lake District ostensibly to visit garden centres and nurseries. And something my wife said about furniture....anyway a coincidental need for a suitable retirement gift for a colleague (67 year old former mining engineer, loves rugby) provides a perfect excuse to raid the beer aisle at Booth's in Penrith. Happy days.

I was going to say Booths. Without doubt the best supermarket in the world.

Its pale southern imitation Waitrose has a surprisingly poor range, Tesco or even Aldi are better in that regard.

Booths isn't really a chain of supermarkets though, only available in a few affluent towns in the lake District.

Having been born and brought up in Carnforth, I can assure you that Carnforth is neither affluent nor in the Lake District.

Also looking at their website, it looks like only 2 out of 28 of their supermarkets are technically in the Lake District (although another 5 are close to the boundary of the Lake District)

Just a fraction of what was available in Booth's Penrith yesterday if your brief was "Foreign Eclectic". having said that, the Einstok and the Anchor Steam are lovely refreshing summer beers.

Another planet...
With the amount of coverage they're getting in this thread, Booth's should probably be making a donation towards the upkeep of these fora!

When I am in England I usually go to lidl for beer. Their real ale selection is not bad. Here at Lidl in Germany they have six packs of different English beers for 5 Euros. I have stocked up

The best supermarket for beer I've ever been to was, well a little way out, well actualy near River Edge in New Jersey, US! And in fact it wasn't a supermarket per say, but a separate building next to the local supermarket due to the state licencing laws. But it was at least as big as many of our supermarkets, and the beer section was so big that, well I cried a little before doing a happy, very happy dance.

That evening at our relative's house, sat around the fire pit, partaking of just a tiny selection of the beers on offer, I got very, very happy again.... :D

Ive found Tesco's to be much improved over the last year. Particuarly in the "Craft Section". Asda has also upped its game in the last year. Still both are a poor selection for Ales compared to Waitrose in my opinion.. Does help the Mother in Law gets 20% off at Waitrose though ;)

Last time I checked, Media City and Hale Barns were in Greater Manchester. Not to mention it was founded in Preston.

So 2 stores in Greater Manchester, big deal, it's still a small obscure chain that I've never heard of.

Anyway Conad do some really good own brand lager, and it's cheap as well!

I must have missed the serious landside that caused my old house in Preston to end up in an affluent part of the Lake District.
