Do Cross-Country 170s regularly get to Manchester Piccadilly? 170101 now in P3 waiting to do 1605 to Bristol TM.

A Cross Country service to Manchester was formed of a turbostar over the weekend (I think it was the weekend).
Who drives / conducts?
Do Voyager drivers sign 170s?
Or does one driver (route knowledge) advise the other (traction knowledge) - same with train managers / conductors?

It's good we have such things as platform departure displays, there was nothing on 170101 to say where it was going. Front display was blank, rear display informed all & sundry that it was a 'Turbostar, Class 170'. So now we know.
I saw on JourneyCheck (and Tiger train times) for the 16:05 Manchester Piccadilly to Bristol Temple Meads service yesterday or Saturday it was formed of 3 coaches. I thought perhaps it was a 4-coach Voyager with one coach locked out of use - but then I thought 'a 170 from Manchester to Bristol?'
170's I'd find very comfortable for that sort of journey but obviously it's an extremely rare occurrence. The only problem is 9 First Class seats compared to 26 on a Voyager!
Just out of curiosity, wowou the 170 have worked the 06:37 from Nottingham to Bournemouth, and the 10:45 from Bournemouth to Manchester Piccadilly before then running the 16:05 to Bristol?
Couldn’t work to Bournemouth, not route cleared west of Totton. Never heard if XC running a 170 on the south coast leg of their main network at all.Just out of curiosity, wowou the 170 have worked the 06:37 from Nottingham to Bournemouth, and the 10:45 from Bournemouth to Manchester Piccadilly before then running the 16:05 to Bristol?
Not all of them. And no Train Managers at XC sign 170s.Birmingham-Manchester drivers and conductors both familiar with all 3 three types of trains, including hsts on this route. Driver doesn’t need assistant in driving to Manchester.
You would be correct.I presume because a Class 170 substituted for the normal Class 221 Voyager that the service didn’t have a refreshment service for the whole journey?
