They look okay but i'm still not a huge fan, maybe if they weren't cheapskates with the application on the front i'd prefer it, the E200MMCs look particularly awful in beachball. The livery was designed to fit the buses of 20 years ago, but it does no justice to the lines of today. MMCs in beachball just look cheap when compared to other liveries.

Stagecoach beachball livery looks much better than a lot of others on MMCs .... Arriva livery for instance looks really cheap, as does First.

Are we expecting the new livery to be in place for the arrival of the new electric buses for Manchester next spring? Only ask as if would be interesting to see what beachball looks like on the Citys

Disagree, i think the First scheme looks smart on them. Any standard Arriva livery looks awful on any bus though.

As these are electric, I'm not sure they'll receive a standard livery, whether existing or new

Agreed with the 200MMC - particularly when branding is applied ilke those in Fife, just awful. The E400MMCs do look decent in their variation, but I've noticed inconsistencies now - some repaints (such as the ex-London Omnicities) are going into full original beachball, while others have the white stripe separating the red and orange removed, some have the red and orange aligning with the dark blue skirt, some have it ending in the dark blue skirt...
I think Stagecoach could have just introduced the revised MMC standard livery on all other vehicle types, instead of a complete redesign.

Stagecoach's logo is getting a bit dated, but this could be updated in line with the revised beachball livery.

I think the biggest issue with the beachball livery is that - due to being more complex than some other liveries and with a greater number of colours - it doesn't lend itself well to variations of the livery or route branding being applied. While First have considered this with their latest revised and simplified livery, with a coloured front being applied to brand for a particular route or sub-brand.

I think its the font that makes them seem old fashioned.
I'm curious to see the potential livery in person.

Rumour has it the last batch of buses (for Morecambe) will be the final ones to wear beachball and the next deliveries look likely to arrive plain white until the new livery is decided at which point they'll be painted (or wrapped maybe?)...

Isn't it strange Stagecoach still can't decide what livery it wants to change to use on its buses?

I’m not sure that a complete rebrand is on the cards anyway. Why are new buses in beachball if all 6000 are going to be repainted? Don’t make sense! Probably just have the one livery. Just been in Manchester and saw ‘old’ beachball, MMC beachball, magic bus, hybrid and three overall pink advert buses. The MMC beachball looks the best and is the best one, in my opinion, of any of the major groups.

Buses still being delivered in beachball means nothing really, and it's not a waste because these buses will be moved to the back of the queue for repainting and by the time their turn comes they'll be up for repaint anyway.

Repainting 6000 buses that have a very good livery seems a silly waste of money. Maybe improve the quality of existing stock rather than changing fir changes sake.

With most schemes like this there are very few additional repaints. They might make an effort to have a few in each area for a launch, or may convert an area or a certain depot quicker but most repaints will be those required anyway. First changed from Barbie in 2012 and previous examples are still running today.
If the new scheme is cheaper to apply than the old one it might even show up as a saving.

Again all those buses will be getting repainted at some point anyway, paint coats on buses realistically have a designed life of 4 to 6 years. So it's not a waste of money at all.

Attitudes towards vehicle presentation vary between different operating areas. Some will will repaint vehicles on a regular 4-5 year cycle and in others 10 year old buses may still be on their original paintwork. Some areas will inevitably roll out the new livery quicker than others.

So you replace a well known and respected livery over 4-6 years? Great way to retain or build a brand! Crackers!

If all the speculation is true and an update to the Stagecoach brand is imminent, the pictures floating around would suggest a move to make the brand seem more mature... Whilst beach all was very fitting for the 00's and the stripes fitting of the era before hand.. Whilst to some beachball may still appear fresh and vibrant. And the beachball logo itself isn't a bad brand nor is Stagecoach's reputation with the public toxic... The "irn bru" colour scheme of the interior is however very "In yer face!" it also can look dirty after a very short period of time, It would probably be a sensible idea minimalise the amount of orange used.. Whilst orange isn't considered as being a bad colour it can be associated more with images of fun, carefee, cheerful etc.. Bright and JOLLY, but not all that serious about things, so the move to blues and greys says a little more about "we're reliable dependable and mean business. On the external livery. Whilst many people love Stagecoach as a brand and there is definitely a success story attached to the brand. But whilst it's not a toxic brand many garages lost their colours and in some areas some saw the colours of their local garages as part of their own local history and heritage... And when everyones buses turned white people saw their own town or regions identity go away with the colours, People will always struggle with change and you can never please everyone.... It would appear that the omission of Orange again would be a move to say that Stagecoach are trying to appear more serious and dependable to their current customers, potential customers, and former customers... Getting the balance right will be the challenge.

It's all gone quiet on this front... It's easy to assume that those unimaginative and bland green, red and blue examples didn't go down well and that option has been binned. Meanwhile deliveries continue in beachball, and only one Megabus Elite-I has appeared in service in a lighter shade of blue with no fleetnames. Have they gone back to the drawing board?

Why are some folk so petty? Whoever complained should get a life and grow up. There are more important things to worry about than the sex of a bus or coach driver or mascot.

Vehicles that were expected to be delivered in the new livery will now be delivered in the current livery until further notice. These include new vehicles for routes that are being 'de-Golded'.

The new Enviro400XLBs for Cambridge are in the base colour of the Park & Ride variation of the new livery.
