Hello all.

I have seen a few times on RTT that there is a 0200 bus service from Euston to Milton Keynes Central on a Sunday morning.
This would certainly save on a hotel Saturday night but not sure if they always run and where they stop at Euston.

Has anyone ever caught this or has any info?

Thanks

It's been a long standing service for at least ten years now, it began under the Silverlink franchise as a replacement for the last train which used to be 01:34 I believe?.

Until about 2016(?) the buses originated at Watford Junction. There was a 02:00 London Overground departure which shown in the timetable as London Midland and ran semi-fast; Euston - Wembley Central - Harrow & Wealdstone - Watford. It then connected with 02:50 WFJ-MKC fast and 02:55 WFJ-MKC stopper.

There are actually multiple buses with varying stopping patterns (fast/semi/snail) from Euston for the current 02:00 departure but I believe it just appears in NRE as one service?

Open to correction on all of this!

I think the train was also 0200 (it's 0134 on other nights). But I believe the rest of it is correct.

Yes, it's reliable. It I think goes from the Platform 1 roadway (unless they've changed it) but the station is open until it goes so you won't have any trouble finding out.

Last time I looked the different patterns were shown in the LNR published timetables (just checked and they indeed are) - there appear to be 4 buses with different patterns.

The service has co-ordinators and multiple buses so definitely runs, not sure if the clientele make it pleasant that time of night!

They depart from outside in the TfL bus station now after Network Rail changed their mind about buses on Platform 1/2.

I've used it precisely once, and almost everyone was asleep. The "p***head expresses" are the 0010 and about 2 hours leading up to that (look for the 12-car services).

I have had to take that bus in the past when my LUL staff taxi was late picking me up at the Met station that I worked at. It's a long journey and as someone has said not pleasant company.

I’ve used it a couple of times; it’s painfully slow, particularly if you’re going to a station not served by the “fast” ones (it’s 2hrs to Tring, for example). Not recommended unless absolutely necessary!!

The "p***head expresses" are the 0010 and about 2 hours leading up to that (look for the 12-car services).

....which, since May, are all-8 car and crush loaded with drunk people. With the 12-car services it was possible to escape the mayhem by going to the front but no longer. I’ve pretty much given up using them.

I believe they've upped the frequency, haven't they?

Looks like they have after the 2305, which is the one I was referring to in particular. I think that’s just a busy train that needs 12 cars - perhaps they’re not all as bad as that...

Sorry, drifting off topic.
