Could battery technology be used on Heritage Lines?

The other option would be to have a battery powered coach pushing our "Steam" locomotives, they of course have an electric smoke/steam/hot oil smell generator in the smoke box to give us that "heritage experience"......and no more 10 year, expensive, boiler overhauls!:rolleyes:

In other words make it a 12 inch to the foot gauge model train with DCC sound and smoke generator yes that'll be very authentic :lol:

Might be better to concentrate modern battery technology on getting carriage lights working properly before spending zillions on alternative traction methods !
