A minor change perhaps but as of today (30th September 2019) MTR Crossrail has been rebranded as MTR Elizabeth line (sic).

The company’s legal name is still MTR Corporation (Crossrail) Limited however the trading name is now MTR Elizabeth line.

The company website has been changed to: https://mtrel.co.uk/

Nice use of '(sic)', how dare they make such a change! I mean yeah they're never actually going to be operating it when CR2 gets eventually (maybe) built, but how dare they! /s

When Crossrail was first officially delayed, we were told it would open 9 months late, which is round about now. Perhaps some legalities were put in place?

I noticed on the lift at Farringdon that Crossrail is actually etched into the lift panel. Obviously not impossible to change, but I wonder how many other uses of Crossrail to the public there are at some of the stations - and how many will be missed and the subject of trivia and quizzes in the years ahead?

Does seem strange to do this. It'd be like Arriva Rail London calling itself Arriva London Overground. Makes zero difference to anyone.

Tottenham Court Road definitely has (or had) a few. I'm sure I saw another elsewhere, I might very well have been Farringdon.

TCR has signs that had stickers over them and you could see Crossrail behind. They'll have to be replaced, if they haven't already, but I wonder if they have the same thing with the lifts?

I think they have changed their trading name because possibly to avoid confusion when people purchase tickets from ETMs /Ticket offices their name will come up as the merchant i. Although I am sure it has come up as TfL before at Hayes

The official reason we have been given is to align the name closer the the line name rather than the construction project name. I can’t wait to wear my snazzy new purple trimmed uniform in a few weeks time. 8-)

You mean associate the name to the completed thing that works, not the shambles of its construction delays......

The odd capitalisation and the two fonts and colours in the "mtr Elizabeth line" logo on their look awful.
