I couldn't see any thread dedicated to this for this year yet, so thought I would start this one.

Any diagrams/allocations of interest that could be posted here would I'm sure be of interest to many.

I believe that Rail Record have a section something along the lines of 'Everything you need to know about RHTT 2019', so I guess that they'll have either a link to or info on this years diagrams

As for the DRS 20s you mentioned on the other thread, I think they do certain routes in Yorkshire due to their route availablility, I'm sure I read that this is supposed to be their last year before going into retirement, begs the question of course, what will cover those routes next year?

The one Scottish loco-hauled RHTT has been an EWS 67 for several years. Supposedly DRS have the contract this year.
Correct - 66423 is working the train this year which ran for the first time last night.

[trivia] this is the only loco hauled RHTT diagram (out of 24) to be booked for a single loco,
which means that it has to run round at reversal points such as Perth, Stirling and Carnoustie!

Heading north through Peterborough yesterday, Monday, I noticed two trains stabled with DB 66s on both ends of 4or 5 of the usual blue tanks. Didn't get the numbers unfortunately.

But why is the Euston to Euston after it, 2S01?
Same on RTT as well, I thought RHTT trains always ran under class 3?
I believe it's due to the Train Describers used on the 'DC lines', which cannot display class 3 headcodes.

I'm assuming that the most interesting traction the Tonbridge RHTTs will produce will be 73s. Or is there any possibility that some 20s might be used?

I would say probably not i doubt many if any of the drivers on that circuits are traction trained on them.

Picture of the day on The RailwayCentre.com is of the HNRC Class 20s 20311 & 20314 on "... the South Yorkshire circuit continuing to use DRS Class 20s due to restrictions on the Sheffield - Barnsley - Wakefield line"

*News that DRS have managed to get their 20302 & 20303 working and they have moved from Crewe to York today

That gets said every year! The bigger issues is that DRS dont seem to have any serviceable 20's at present and the street word is that some have had to be hired in.

EDIT - you have more updated street word than me! ;)

No 20s at Tonbridge this time round. Some years have 20s , others don't. Hit or miss really. Previous years we had Balfour Beatty ones, then 901/905, then the grey ones, nothing since then

as a direct replacement, you'd be looking at cl37 or cl73.

however, there might be an opportunity to do something with soon to be redundant 153's if wabtec have enough availability/capability to modify them.
with a couple of tanks and heaters/compressors installed in the passenger bay,153 could cover most routes(they are either RA1 or RA2), but would have a shorter range than the present top "n" tail + 3 tank outfit.

they'd be quite suitable for treating branch lines..and there's about 40 of them going spare..they would save quite a chunk on fuel costs i think!

Insufficient water capacity and I suspect fuel for the kind of circuits an rhtt runs
