hi I’m new here. This Thursday 10th October I have my first interview with HR with South Western Railway. Can anyone tell me what I’m to expect at this interview and the types of questions they’ll use. I’ve passed the assessment first time and now I’m at the HR interview then I take it if I pass this I then wait for TOCs interview or would that be the same day.

Thanks guys anything helps here

No this will actually be your DMI if it’s with SWR.

Think about why you want to do the job and why. A time you have worked safely to complete a task. A time where you have had to concentrate and a time when you have had to follow rules or how you have managed confrontation with a manager or challenge situation. Also will be help to research a little about SWR.

If you pass this you will then be invited to the MMI.

Not too sure to be honest as I’ve only met people who have passed.

The DMI is usually a lot less formal but it’s with driver managers. These will be the kind of people who will be managing you when you go productive so you would want to leave your best impression.

Some of the questions you get here are similar to your final interview so it’s also a warm up of sorts. Personally I like it how they do it this way round because usually if the managers pass you it’s a good sign you have demonstrated you meet the requirements for the role and may be a good fit for the company. Not always of course because some go on to fail the MMI which is a bit more in-depth and formal. Good luck.
