Thank you for the analysis regardless, and I'm sure it will roll past a platform-end photographer soon enough for the rest of us.
Have you watched my video...? Not the same as photos I know, just wondering :p

Having seen the pics it looks like the floor is lino rather than carpet.
That's odd; I thought that 150s are the only Sprinter class that are supposed to have lino flooring. I've been on an ATW and GWR 153 and they both had carpeted flooring

I've commented on that Tweet asking why lino flooring has been fitted, as 153s are supposed to have carpeted flooring (it should have the same carpet as the refurbished 175s, as 150s are the only Sprinter family units that are supposed to have lino flooring).

I've also asked why the "before" shots in the GIF don't represent 153325, which was delivered to TfW dewrapped to tatty ex-London Midland green livery, and with a London Midland spec interior with only FirstGroup "dynamic lines" seat moquette, have stated a 2 day old spot of the seating capacity in response to a claim that it would need investigating, and have actually answered a question that was dodged about how long the units go into works for.

Who says they’re the only sprinters supposed to have Lino? Surely each TOC is free to do what they want

it's going against the spec of the class. Lino flooring is incorrect for a 153. ATW (and FGW / GWR) put their carpet in the 153s, following the spec of the class, so why did TfW go with incorrect flooring...?

I might as well create an active Twitter account and comment on that Tweet, because also the TfW staff member has gone to "investigate" about the seating capacity rather than type 59
Pretty sure old Northern fitted lino to the 153s (and 155s) many years ago.

As long as customers have a train, on time, preferably with a seat, to get them from A to B they’re not going to care whether it’s got carpet or Lino

True; carpet is much nicer though and while the rest of the unit has been made better, the flooring has been made worse...

I actually think that refurb is better than the job that's being done on the 150s, at least it looks possible to sit down on that toilet rather than it being shoved in the corner like in the 150 cubicle

Here are the photos displayed normally, not in an annoying GIF! Credit to TfW Rail / the photographer(s)

On the lino/carpet debate, Northerns refurbished 156s(the porterbrook ones) have received lino flooring and I guess for cleaning purposes, it's easier to keep clean. Maybe it's the way forward and I
for one have no issue with that and nor would your average passenger.

Fair point... I'm grateful that 175s (and then 158s) are still getting carpet though!

At least the door opens away from all the passengers!
not all the passengers when there are 59 seated plus a line of standees in the gangway plus passengers not even being able to stand in the line in the gangway!

Looks decent enough, but that represents quite a reduction in seating capacity. No doubt there won't be lengthening of train formations to compensate.

What makes you say that? There are more 153s arriving then TfW currently have. And that said, some of the routes currently run by 153s (and some of those expected to be getting them soon) don't require 59 seats anyway.
