So very different then! For different services

They are not. They are both identical for the purpose of signing them as crews. Cab wise the only difference is a 745 hasnt got the buttons to turn on the diesel. The electrical systems are the same. They both have the same traction motors, transformers, equipment. The only difference is length and the presence of diesel generators on the 755.

One more difference: 745 has more non-Jacob's bogies : ) - although that's admittedly of no relevance to signing them.

And also, the 745 only has twice the (electrical) power of the 755's (3 and 4 car have identical electrical equipment). Which is all reflected in the higher accelerations that a 755/3 can provide vs 755/4 and then 745. But that also points to the fact that from a maintenance side, things like motor-bogies and transformers (and in fact everything other than body-shells and the diesel unit) should be interchangeable between all these trains.

Yes but via Seven sisters, not Tottenham Hale, and hence not through the fast platforms at Hackney Downs.
Presumably if you are both so confident they will work on the WAML you can tell us all the date they will be in service, or will they remain at the mid Norfolk to rust away.

If the Hackney Downs fast lined are a problem, then why not route the 745's onto the slow lines?
Assuming that the connection from the slows to Clapton & beyond is still in place, of course.

Err because London Underground use the surburbans so very limited pathways left

Is the Lea Bridge route feasible?
Yeah there's a lot of freight and other conflicting moves to go from the TM's to the Mains/Electrics. Also, the journey time is surprisingly longer going from Tottenham to London via Stratford. I'd always thought it would be quicker for some reason.

I'd be shocked if they didn't end up staying at least a little longer than planned, but at this point who knows.

How many are even in the country yet? 3 intercity and a couple of Stansted units?

Shame really, because those 379's from the Stansted route would have binned 22 317/6s and/or 6 317/8s.

Does that mean they can be used on the Norwich sevices in the meantime?

I would assume that's the reason why they won't be anywhere near West for some time.covering Norwich work

Norwich stealing the West's trains to try to rescue the ninnies? (Norwich in Nineties) Decisions like these make you feel GA is really from the old Anglia not GE or wagn.

If its turned out the 90s are off to pasteurs new then its maybe the only sensible solution available.

I think these 4 movements Norwich - LivSt - Camb - LivSt - Norwich were a 745 overnight, can anyone confirm? If so I think they are the first on West Anglia, and ran via Hackney Downs. But looks like did not run to Stansted Airport, so still none been there
