Luckily for those of us who play Train Simulator, there's a very good version on a 313 with sounds that were professionally recorded from a live unit. Those sounds don't have to be a distant memory.

313 scrap move today at 11.00 from Hornsey to Rotherham. Loco on it's way from Leicester, almost at Hornsey. Which locomotive and units, please.

37884 will be taking 313052 & 059

Strangely, this pair looked as though they had been cleaned up a little when they were on one of the two roads at the south end of the depot last week, might just have been the rain. They certainly looked less forlorn than 48 and 49, which were parked on the nearest track to the running lines on Tuesday last week (the day after the last workings) sporting several bits of newly acquired graffiti.

Can anyone confirm which day the three units from Ferme Park Sidings (including 30 and 47) went - I don't think they were there this morning? Edit: no they’re still there, just obscured behind rows of old Mark IVs and new Mark Vs. Two more 313s (separate) were at the south end of Hornsey, being moved as I passed this evening (but I couldn’t see which).

God knows how they’re getting a railway vehicle low loader out of Hornsey with the new “safety improvements” on Wightman Road!

Why don't they send it down to Lovers Walk so they can use it as a Christmas tree to keep the Coastway fleet going?

Wondering if they get scrapped immediately on arrival at booths/ mas or if there is going to be some time sitting there before they’re even looked at?

Off topic also, how can I find out what other classes are being taken there? I am keen to know.. might make a good trip to visit close by and see some stuff passing by.

At Booth’s things can vary, so some stuff gets dealt with quickly whilst other stuff can linger in the yard for quite a while. I guess it depends on what other work they have going on.

I have a feeling stuff arriving at Newport gets dealt with pretty promptly, they’re a rather smaller site.

its a shame Vic Berry’s has gone, just imagine a stack of 313s, (photoshop any one?).

I thought stacking was banned after the Berry's fire, which is why car scrapyards now have to use an enormous short of shelf type racking for any intact vehicles that are stored on more than one level?

That looks superb. Genuinely looking forward to the farewell tour on the 23rd.

It's great to see some effort being put in after the last passenger service proved to be such a damp squib. Even Southeastern managed A4 notices in the windows when their 508s bowed out!
