Appreciate this might be up in arms as of yet, but will it eventually get the TfW logos too?

Apart from the typeface used for the numbers which looks too much like the old pre-Corporate Image BR diesel numbers (and why white on an off-white background?) it's not a bad livery, proof that it can sometimes be possible to slap lipstick on a pig with success.

Given the time it has taken to refurbish and repaint four 175s, would it not be more logical to either use cheaper vinyl wrapping or even not touch the livery at all, since by the time the last one is done it won't be long before they start moving elsewhere (and with it into a TOC using a different livery)?

Units 003 and 107 look decent enough in the vinyl wrapping.

I agree, re-branding in existing livery, as seen on the Mk 3 set and ex-FGW 153s would've been sufficient IMO, then roll out the big re-brand when the real improvements come along in 2022/23

No.

Some of the sets have corrosion issues and need stripping back to base layers to fix. Whilst doing this they may as well repaint it properly.

Interesting that the class 67 has a grey band along the bottom, like the Greater Anglia livery the class 170s are arriving in, unlike the 158s and 175s which have no such band.

Valley lines livery vibes ;)
I'm still disapointed that the doors and the window band on the TfW livery are red and dark grey respectively and not the dark green used on the ValleyLines Pacer livery. Chiltern's silver sets have their window band the same colour as the doors so presumably that's allowed as long as the lower half of the bodyside is a contrasting colour to the doors.

Green has never been part of TfW's brand identity, so personally I'm not disappointed that something that was never going to happen isn't happening :p

Well after looking at the Renders of the new Civity's that TfW will be receiving, it does seem to look like there is a grey strip along the bottom. I didn't release it was vital that a small grey line was so important, although one thing that does bother me is that the grey on the units aren't the same but then again that's just OCD  The grey band are currently on all DBS 67's, just a little feature to go with the red and the DB branding on the front. All grey bands besides 67005,006 & 018.

The Grey solebar is something DBS like to do to all their locos, all European DBS locos have this feature too!

If you look closely at 158 and 175 there is a grey strip - not very deep though, but it is there!

I've seen photos on FB today of the 170s in Canton sidings. The photos aren't very clear, but you can see that 'TfW/Wales and Borders' logo and branding has been applied to the GA livery, the grey strip has been left on the bottom of the train.
Must be the easiest re-brand for TfW so far, no re-paint or re-vinyl needed

'Railways in South Wales' on FB. But you're not missing anything, the photos aren't great quality but the lettering and branding is just visible.

oh, so you couldn't make out the unit numbers, or was it on all of the three that have been delivered so far...?

I've just had a look at the aforementioned image and it's impossible to make out the unit numbers, that is if I'm getting the right image (alongside a 37/Mk2 rake and a Pacer). It was taken from a moving train and the window makes things fuzzy.

Edit: Was posted on the 18th saying it was taken the previous Saturday
