If you do not know which train you caught then I would drop the case if I were you.
Agreed 100%.

This is confusingly stated
Did you travel on a train that left Gloucester at 16.45 or 16.25 ? you seem to be saying you were on both of them.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, the 16.25 is a CrossCountry service (the 14.07 Nottingham - Cardiff). You were not on a TfW train - it’s CrossCountry you need to contact. My mistake, I left on the 16:25.
Although if your going to take it to the press it would probably be best to get your facts correct first otherwise it could prove more embarrassing for you than train company! If it's an XC train and guard, you need to contact them. If TfW manage the station they will receive a report, but these things aren't instantaneous, so a delay of a few days is neither suspicious nor unusual.
Where you go now really depends on what you're wanting as an outcome. If you want an apology, go to XC. If you were injured and want compensation for your injuries, go to a personal injury lawyer. If you want to embarrass the train company, go to your local paper.
All good advice! Rather hard to offer the OP much more help as they have repeatedly failed to answer the question about where they are wanting to go with this... (although starting post was a question about whether TfW's legal representatives were likely to be impartial, for which I am sure that is not what they are likely to be employed for - even though it seems like it's a matter that concerns Cross Country not TfW).If it's an XC train and guard, you need to contact them.
