Train Simulator World: Xbox One Founders Edition

Train simulator world : founders edition is releasing on Xbox one, on Friday 9th march
Initially, the game features Great Western Express but dlc will be later added later date.
Cost is £24.99 available to preorder now from Microsoft store.

First train simulator for current gen of TV consoles (already some train Sims on 3ds but not to this amazing standard)

I'll be getting this one. I've been wanting to get TSW for sometime, but my Mac (dual-booted for windows) would likely not run it well, so this is what I've been waiting for, plus it saves me having to sit at a desk! I've looked at the pre-order for this via an email I was sent, and it appears only to be available on download, I'm assuming it's never gonna be available on a disc? (I'm pretty old-school and like a game disc ).

The file size seems very small too for a download, at 5GB?

Oh right, just seemed low...maybe because most other console games are a lot more? Usually about 20 or 30gb even installing from a disc?

I have got this game now and first impressions are very good, however it seems a bit buggy, plus I was hoping for a lot more AI. Can anybody in the know advise whether this can be changed (through settings...I know it would take a lot of RAM or whatever to run a lot of stuff on screen at once?), or wither it's in the pipeline?

I got Founders Edition on xbox one last week and I am quite impressed with it, looking forward to the DLC in July.

I hope Dovetail reveal other DLC, would love to play the ECML and some of the London amd Southern Lines

Dovetail won't reveal any further DLC until just before release, I think we can expect one more UK pack this year and hopefully it will be longer than the two we've had. On current form you can expect ECML York to Doncaster or Victoria to Gatwick, it's rather silly as TSW has the capacity for larger DLC than TS but they're releasing much shorter segments of line.

It took 10 years for the TS series to have good coverage of the UKs railways, I expect a similar wait for TSW to be in the same position unfortunately.

When it releases, you can upgrade your version of Founders Edition of TSW to the full game for £9.99 (on XBox One anyway) - gaining Rapid Transit and North East Corridor (as well as the already-owned Great Western Express). Not a bad price for the upgrade, really. July 24th I think is the release date.

Wonder if it's cheaper to buy the original now then upgrade or just buy the new version when it's released?

I think the RRP for the full edition is £39.99. I'm not sure of the price now but when I purchased it for XB1 it was £24.99 so with the £9.99 upgrade, that saves you a fiver on the full blown release (if it's still the same)

The routes and traction are very limited but it’s slowly growing. The only ones in the UK are the GWML from Paddington to Reading, West Somerset railway, Tees Valley line and Northern Transpennine. Although, the only UK route I got was GWML when I bought it and the others are something like £25 each. (I don’t buy them unless if and when they become heavily discounted). There are also some German, American, etc... routes
So when you buy the game, you get: GWML Paddington to Reading (UK) , some Amtrak route in USA and some metro route in Germany. Any additional content you have to pay for.

The graphics and sounds are very good and it’s fairly realistic in terms of the handling of the train particularly units such as the turbo including aws/tpws/dsd. The HST is not fully realistic in terms of the air brake and braking performance but I doubt you would even notice unless you drive them in real life. Again, the graphics and sounds are very good and all warning systems work minus ATP. There are some minor operational issues such as not getting checked down or flashing yellows for a junction and just turning up with a junction indicator lit but it’s mostly ok. The main frustration is lack of routes and traction and they’re slow at adding them and when they do, it ain’t cheap. It would be nice if it was Paddington to Bristol or some other main British routes. I’m not bothered about foreign routes or small heritage lines.
