As far as I know, unless there's a different arrangement on the last trip back to Birmingham.
They're in the process of being fitted with power doors, so they're expected to have a secure future. Ultimately what happens to them will be decided under the terms of the next franchise, in whatever form it takes, so they've probably got 2-3 years ahead of them at least until Virgin's Voyagers or the Meridians are up for grabs.

Given that they've been PRM modified at some expense, and seem to be running reliably, I'd be surprised if they saw less than around 10 years service. Even if the entire XC yoyager/HST fleet was replaced there would be plenty of other uses for them.

The 0900 off Glasgow is only booked for a HST between May and early/mid September on Saturdays. All other days it is a 220 or 221.

Bearing in mind the posts immediately above state the Frequently Requested Diagrams post may be a little out of date, does anyone know which HST services are booked on Saturday? Looking to go from Scotland south. Cheers

XC journey check normally do put HST and double voyager formations on. Even if a HST is subbing a voyager and vice versa. The image shows the 1430 ex Bristol today being a HST.XC journey check doesn't tell doesn't you. The only reliable way i have found is by asking on here but I don't want to do that everytime

it does tell you. XC started doing it for some time now.

They do normally list their HSTs in journey check, but in times of distruption, they may not list them as the focus is on listing services which are delayed/cancelled/ammended/additionals.

That’s correct time of disruption it doesn’t tell. If you checked early morning, then you can’t go wrong.
Sorry for the confusion, I know journey check will tell you if it is a HST or a voyager but I was talking about specific HST sets eg XC05 with slam doors. Also, how does one know all the diagrams and the power cars and rakes allocated?

have spotted them on the day. I get to see them at new st. Either towards Plymouth or their return.

I got that off another forum with permission. I work near town in Nechells. After work usually I go to new st, spot catch my train home.
