Do West Midlands require standard or advance passes?

I remember seeing somewhere that they are enhanced, not 100% though. On their letter back to applicants on the part where it says if you have already passed these tests then they will check to see if they meet our standards. Reading between the lines I would say they are enhanced in relation to the RSSB Standard.

Hi

Tests I completed were the computer test: -

1) Flashing grey square that turns black and you hit the green button when this happens. Takes around 30 mins. Not as bad I thought really as it is clear when it changes. Just have to watch your finger for involuntary pushes after a while.
2) The picture of traffic and then selecting what you saw in it. The picture goes really quick and you convince youself that you saw something that wasn't in the picture. My advice go with gut feeling Id rather miss something then say something was there and it wasn't
3) 2 Hand c0-ordination test- I personally found this the most difficult. The shape stays the same for the entire 10 rounds but I found the joysticks a little sensitive.

Following these tests your scores are reviewed against the enhanced mark and if you pass you go onto MMI if not you are sent home

I passed Tests one and two at enhanced however only reached national pass mark for third test therefore I was sent home. Not too bad as I can redo it in six months and just test three.

Hope this helps

Hey Dan its very helpful thanks. The 2 hsnd is what I am most worried about. Its good you passed at a national standard though as that may be able to be used with another TOC just leaving the MMI.

Hope you get through again soon :)

It helps a lot if you are mouse and keyboard gamer and/or know how to control drone - I found 2 hand test easy enough. One more thing - you do NOT have to sit perfectly between lines, if you come out of route, just come back as soon as possible and you will be fine. Be fast with this one! I passed at enhanced level and found 2 hand easy. Only test I was not sure about was pictures - it was pretty quick, although my advice would be to mark only what you are sure you've seen, During 2 hand test I found I've got better control when I keep both hands on the base of control panel.

I thought I'd find the 2Hand test the easiest of the computer assessments as I am a console gamer. In reality I found it the hardest simply because console controllers move in 6 axis and the ones in the test move in 2 - up and down and left and right. That means going diagonally is awkward if you're used to pushing a joystick in a 45 degree angle! Having said all that I managed to pass so it can't be that difficult!
