Well done. I have mine this week. How did you find it?
Difficult to describe buddy, didn’t enjoy the concentration test as the squares on the screen made me feel slightly weird haha
The rest wasent to bad, I thought I’d failed the hand eye coordination test as I did have a few beeps which indicate you’ve left the track but passed that so don’t worry if the same occurs just don’t go so slow that your very accurate but slow in completing.
As for the MMI it was the part I was most confident about tbh so didn’t feel to stressed about it and to be fair the interviewer from the OPC was very fair with me and did give me the chance to change an answer to something she thought would be more suitable so grateful for that.
other than that it isn’t a bad experience other than timings! I stopped the night before so was a stress free morning. But It is a long day especially if your driving back I never got back till gone 5pm so a long day concentrating followed by a two hours drive back in rubbish weather wasn’t fun
good luck for your tests
Thanks for that. I’m dreading the MMI if I get that far. I have a few answers lined up but I find it hard to think of something to say, even though it’s things I do every day.
you’ll be fine I found them very helpful and they do steer you in the best direction on how they want the answer from yourself, just remember they want to know what you did in the situations not others
Congratulations, any info on when you may go for your DMI?
what did they ask you at your driver managers interview I have one soon?Got 10 days notice for my stage 2. After stage 2 I only got 2 days notice for the Driver Manager Interview
Hello
I have got a driver managers interview soon for trainee train driver. what sort of questions do they ask you?
They didn't ask me much about the company at all. It's worth reading a bit I'm sure, but for me was scenario and experience questions. Give an example of: dealing with an emergency/out-of-course/changing situation, good customer service, similar MMI stuff. I think I used some of my examples more than once to answer different questions in varying ways. Remember safety is paramount. It's worth finding randomly a basic health & safety policy online to see what it contains & why too.what did they ask you at your driver managers interview I have one soon?
Thanks for letting me know, was just wondering.Hi L.J
They dont offer you a place at the interview. I had my DMI in July and I'm still awaiting a medical date so the process will likely continue for a while after you pass.
I found out the day after the interview by email.
All the best.
Hiya, what depot are you going to be based at? The new premises for the academy has good facilities, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the course.Anyone on the course starting 9th December?
Fantastic. Well done!Congrats buddy same as me
email received today rather chuffed haha
Hi all,
first time posting here, I have to Say I have found this thread very useful with lots of helpful information. I have applied through Abellio who emailed me last Friday to invite me to the West Midlands Assessment Centre : Trainee Train Driver- Birmingham New Street and Snow Hill. I was invited to an assessment centre a few months ago although by time I had clicked the link all the spaces had gone!
To help practice I have downloaded the Bourdon tool and they have also sent some practice material. I was also considering downloading the 'how2become' train driver edition does anyone have any experience of this and if so did you find it helpful.
They noted in the email 'The testing session should last no longer than 3 hours in total but if you are successful at testing stage you will be invited to attend a company interview with our Driver Managers and the final assessments which include the Vienna Test System (Two hand reaction and perception test) and if successful, situational judgement exercise and multi modal interview.' Does this mean that if I pass the tests I will have the interview on the same, I presume that it would be the tests on that day then they would contact me to arrange an interview for a later date?
Many thanks in advance
Hello Everyone, Good Evening.
I've applied to WMT for Trainee Driver at Birmingham New Street Depot late last year. I've been invited to stage 1 assessment day on 10th Feb, I know which tests I shall be sitting on the day.
I would really appreciate if anyone could provide me with some hints and tips to make sure I pass with flying colours?
Thank you in advance
