I seen 216 on the 1415 Cathcart Circle service and 205 was working the 1445 Newton run so it seems as though the diagrams remaining are correct.

Anyone know what’s happening with 314204 and 314215? I’m surprised the two units have yet to make their last journey

Both still intact, 204 at Eastleigh and 215 at Yoker.

Today’s daytime units are 202, 209 and 216.

Excellente. I’ll need to hunt down the remaining 314s soon before they all disappear in December

where are the 314's being taken for scrap?

Most of those which have gone by rail have gone to Sims Metals of Newport. However the past isn’t necessarily a guarantee of the future - the current scrapping programme for 313s 314s and 315s is seeing units go elsewhere too - Booths of Rotherham have taken a few units, with a couple also going to EMR Kingsbury. Naturally there must be a logic to it, but outwardly it does seem a little random.

So far there’s been very few pictures of events inside the yards, though plenty of pictures of the delivery runs.

201, 206, 207, 208 and 211 went to Sims Metals at Newport Docks for disposal whilst 212 and 213 went by road to EMR Kingsbury but not before going via the now closed Glasgow Works for component recovery. So far no 314s have been scrapped at Booth's.

Or if Bo'ness is going to get a set? Hard to argue that they've not played an important part in Scottish railway history over 40 years....

Been rumoured a few times.

Nice idea, but I think one driving car in Riverside might be the most we'll see.

I think they could come up with something really interesting having the 380 mock-up in Riverside, they could show the new and old or something along those lines. Considering the 314s and 380s worked together out of Central I think that would be a nice idea.

Was at Summerlee the other week and I find it a travesty that the 311 is in such bad nick. It’s literally been left at the far side of the yard to rot away in the rain when it could have been preserved so much better.

I’d like to see like a set kept with a driving Carmine livery a middle Carmine carriage and a ScotRail livery driving carriage. If that could be done and used at Bo’ness or put in a museum. Because of 205s state probable not that one. This would show the comparison of the refurb and old Carmine livery.

The 311 at summerlee I think was always going to be kept the way it is. I don’t think they ever had intentions to keep it nice as they knew the had similar at Bo’ness.

I think a farewell would be awesome. I had tweeted ScotRail around 1 year ago about it and even until recently they have no plans to do one. Be nice if they were to do one and it covered 5 days across Scotland seeing the cities and finishing with a trip around the Cathcart circle and being piped into central. Then for it to leave shortly after being hauled away to the dock to be taken apart. That would do them justice as they’ve done the railways a great service for well over 42 years.

Would be nice to see them make something of it, but I'm not even sure one vehicle will be preserved.

The 311 is quite bad, they already scrapped one car off the unit.

Must have been some unit shortages this afternoon. Good old 314214 out covering a 318/320 diagram on Paisley Canals.

there’s a sign next to the unit asking for volunteers to help with it. Looks like it’s been there a while though...

Today marks 40 years since the first 314s entered passenger service, although both sets which worked the first journey are now withdrawn. On 26th October 1979, 314204 and 314208 were the first two units in passenger service. They were used on the North Clyde route, ahead of the Argyle Line's November 1979 opening.

It would be nice to see a 314 preserved but regrettably I don’t see such a thing happening at this rate :(. Angel Trains did say they were gonna set one aside for preservation last year but I don’t think that’s the case anymore

Fantastic. I was hoping the 314s would be able to make it to 40 years of service. They've done Glasgow well over the years
