All that fuss by Scotland!
All that fuss by Scotland!
We don’t mind going out having lost the game. What annoyed me was potentially going out without the chance to play the game. However Japan did deserve to win the game overall.
Scotland Rugby agreed the rules before the competition. It was odd the rules only became an issue once they were to be applied in a way that was detrimental to Scotland Rugby. Hillarious.
And of course England wouldn't have created a fuss if they had been in the same situation - aye right!
Ireland-New Zealand now. Should be a closer game.
I doubt having Mr Tumble on the bench would help!England need something special to beat New Zealand.
Tangentially, the equivalent episode of the Welsh-language Makaton show (Dwylo'r Enfys) involved a rugby training session with the Cardiff Blues, specifically Jamie Roberts and Rhys Patchell.Talking about Mr Tumble, if you watch the episode where he trained with Saracens, you'll notice one of the players is the long haired Jamie George...
England are into their first Rugby World Cup final in 12 years after a brilliant demolition of three-time world champions New Zealand.
England had stormed into a 10-0 lead, Manu Tuilagi's second-minute try and a long-range penalty from George Ford fitting reward for a blistering first half.
It could have been more had Ben Youngs' score not been controversially ruled out by referee Nigel Owens, and when Ardie Savea pounced on a wayward line-out throw the three-time world champions were on the charge.
Yet the superb George Ford landed a trio of nerveless penalties and with the young dynamos Tom Curry and Sam Underhill outstanding England held on in style to pull off one of their greatest victories.
The All Blacks had not lost a World Cup game in 12 years and had won 15 of the last 16 games between the two nations.
But England tore the crown from their head with a performance of unremitting energy and excellence on a night for the ages in Yokohama.
What a famous upset. We were brilliant today.
Will mean nothing if we don't win next week...
As a non-Englishman, I fear what will happen next week, as if England go on to win, the English press will never let us hear the end of it.
On the plus side, maybe Clive Woodward et.al won't harp on about 2003 quite as much if they do win...
(No need for an alarm clock tomorrow morning: the kids will have me up at the crack of dawn anyway!)
Here in Scotland though we still have to put up with English pressLike the Welsh press won't mention a thing if Wales go on to win it.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks thatAs a non-Englishman, I fear what will happen next week, as if England go on to win, the English press will never let us hear the end of it.
True, they're certain to do so ("Wales Online" will be one to avoid for at least a month!), but it's easier to avoid the Welsh press in England than to avoid the English press in Wales...Like the Welsh press won't mention a thing if Wales go on to win it.

(The fact that there's little distinction between the British and English press doesn't help much, either.)
For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not wishing ill toward English rugby players and staff, just dreading the media frenzy that may follow afterward.
If next week were to end up as an England v Wales final, then boy oh boy, are we in for a good 'un!
Upset? Maybe from the NZ perspective but not to those who have faith in the England team.
Or anyone who can see past a scoreboard... or NZ's magical scrum collapsing capabilities.Upset? Maybe from the NZ perspective but not to those who have faith in the England team.
Anybody who knows anything about rugby would have had New Zealand as favourites. It will definitely go down in history as a World Cup upset.
Well the press have been complaining that he's hated South Africa in the past week. No referee can ever please everyone.Goodness me, this French referee clearly hates the Welsh, must be bitter from last week. The Springboks have had two very dodgy penalties, scored both, and are going to win by one score.
