It doesn't seem to let me choose a date in the past in which to claim my journey was for.

No it won't even let me select yesterday as a date, only dates inthe future
I've just tried it (https://c2c.delayrepaycompensation.com/index.cfm?action=myclaims.add) and it lets me choose any day between 29 September and today.

Just to update. I managed to get it working this morning.
