Is Holytown on a permitted route between Glasgow & Motherwell?
Yes. For routeing purposes, Motherwell Group comprises Holytown and Motherwell. See Group Stations.

This means that a passenger may use any permitted route from any station in Glasgow Group to either station in Motherwell Group, followed by travel (by the route which does not pass through any other railway station, i.e. via Mossend South Jn and Mossend East Jn) to the other station in Motherwell Group.
