When you give them the answers on paper at the start of the day they just want you to be quite brief, a few sentences should be fine. They will then use that basic answer to interview you and will want lots of detail that all fits together well and doesn’t contradict anything you have already said. They will push for times and jump back and forth within your story so it’s best to not make stuff up as they will soon notice if things don’t quite add up. They will ask how the situations made you feel as well.
Throughout the interview they are looking to hear how you assessed the situation, what that then meant you had to do (your task), your reaction/what you did to achieve the task and what the result was. Answering in this way is called STAR Situation Task Action Result. Within your answers in this structure they also need to hear how you were safety conscious, calm, were safety conscious, that you followed rules, were safety conscious, that you could work well with others and alone, were safety conscious, that you have transferable non technical skills(concentration etc.), were safety conscious. I think you can see where I’m going with the safety haha.
Don’t be afraid to take time to think and recall in your memory, tell them you would like a few seconds to think though rather than umming and Arring.
There is loads more information on here to look for on the subject of mmi if you do a search bud (most of it much better written and with more detail than what I’ve told you).
Where are you in the application process out of interest?
Best of luck mate, hope all goes well.
