The US president tweeted: "We have declassified a picture of the wonderful dog (name not declassified) that did such a great job in capturing and killing the leader of IS... Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi."

And with more than 428,000 "likes" and 102,000 retweets, that tweet has inspired lots of people to "declassify" pictures of their own dogs.

Keith Sonia chose to "declassify" both his dog's picture and his name, on Twitter, saying while George may not be "a war hero", he does a "good job sleeping like a human sleeps".

Would anyone like to post "declassified" pictures of their dogs?

You may choose to not declassify the name of the dog ;)

We've had some members bring their dogs on forum meet ups, so I hope those members will be contributing ;) @SickyNicky @jumble @rebmcr :D

Photo shows a dog wearing a balaclava.

Put that dog on moderation. He’s clearly unhinged...

I've been given permission to declassify some details but have to be vague on mission specifics as he's still regularly on deployment on top secret missions. My dog is primarily a cold weather specialist and is deployed to northern areas where his ability to immerse himself in snow and ice is beneficial:

More recently he's being trained for a UAV detection role capable of picking up the noise of a UAV at some distance, here he is on training scanning for a possible hostile UAV while attempting to camouflage himself in heather:

In this case he successfully dug his own hole and covered his face in dirt to improve his camouflage:

He’s so well camouflaged that I can’t even see him.
I bet that in true Special Forces style he buries his own used poop bags thus leaving no trace of the operation?

I can assure you he is very particular about his pooping position :D

Also on the subject of declassification since he is no longer with us I can reveal 'Jake' who dedicated his life to a top secret mission to find the Loch Ness monster:

This is ██████, she is a █-year-old ██████████.

She loves running, attention, and chasing ████████. She's also learned what trains and buses mean, and often seeks to board any and all that arrive!

As her photo has now been declassified, I can confirm that this dog (name not declassified) did a wonderful job joining a group of forum members on 30 June 2018 on a cycle ride from Derby to Loughborough :)

However the details of the mission of this trip, and whether or not a proposal will be posted in the Speculative Ideas section regarding a potential re-opening of the disused railway line we traversed, remain classified for the time being.

I can also confirm that @jumble's dog joined us on the Ruislip Lido railway recently, though I am unsure if the photo or name of the dog can be declassified at this stage.

Those of you at the Ironbridge walk will have met Jura. However, you won't be aware that she works for local farmers during harvesting as a haystack guard dog. Note the weapon ready in her mouth.

Edit: Bonus marks if you can name the closed station (line still open) just out of shot on the left.

She looks like: A) she’s rolled it there, and B) that she’s impersonating a walrus.

Declassified in the last 7 days (taken at the end of September this year), this image depicts my two goofball labradoodles (Alfie on the left, Cooper on the right) after pulling me halfway up a hill on their morning walk. They don't like staying still for very long, but I somehow managed to get a good few images of them that morning. This was the best result by a wide margin:

I was unable to post before as my dog has been attempting to fit in with the locals on a special mission in Lapland

It is still classified what the relationship is with @JohnMcL7's is ( or even if it is the same dog!)
