Bishops Stortford Down Platform is going to be another contender, situated on a reverse curve that has to “overshoot” around the old signalbox so is a very constrained geometry. I understand someone fell under a train a few years ago and suffered life changing injuries.
I walked that site with NR probably going back 10 years ago now with a full remodel in mind, which would have included demolishing the signal-box, realigning the curve and lowering the track, and it still would have required a major rebuild of the platform. I think the prospect of having to close either the Station or block the Stansted Express for so long has pushed the whole scheme into the long grass.
Roydon a little further up the line was another awful one, as the Up platform was effectively falling backwards into the river, and a more recent platform extension had been built to a completely different platform gauge that led to a step between the old and new bits. That has been alleviated now though as it was rebuilt in the last 2 or 3 years.
