As far as I know the Humber Fastcat bus is staying in that livery, I've heard nothing to say it isn't.

Looks really nice, it'll be a shame to see the traditional EYMS livery eventually go thought.

I just read about it here: https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news/business/eyms-changing-name-colour-buses-2609877

I actually prefer it in some ways to the old one, at least they are in a way keeping the red and yellow theme, and besides, most people refer to EYMS as just East Yorkshire anyway, including myself.

I like the idea of the addition of a rose to the new livery too.

That branding on the side with all the place names looks like BBC Local Radio

The rose isn’t a new idea ;) https://flic.kr/p/kJT3zs

I think it’s a really clever livery as it incorporates the Wolds and is a much needed refresh. The use of the “mesh” of local place names is a trick they’ve employed on First’e Excel and Discover liveries in Somerset so will provide ammo for those who accuse Best Impressions of rehashing.

Still, those people probably don’t understand marketing and claim they’d happily buy a chocolate bar in a plain white wrapper with “CHOCOLATE“ on it.

Well it was always going to get an update as Go Ahead look to put their own stamp on things. Really like what they've done by giving it a modern look whilst also incorporating the well known East Yorkshire colours. Such a shame it appears the bunch of place names won't be staying as part of the livery though.

I do! That's pretty much Tesco Value to a tee

As for the new livery, it looks like Ray Stenning has phoned it in again. Very bland. Would have looked fresh and exciting ten years ago. Ah well.

It's not certain that the place names will all fit on a Wright Gemini whereas they will on an Enviro400

That would be Tesco Value that got axed about 6 years ago! If you look at Britain's biggest selling chocolate bars, pretty sure they are all well branded and marketed, and with good reason.

A lot of BI designs look similar but then again, it is a house style and they produce designs that are supposed to suit the majority of body styles. There will have doubtless been a number of options provided to EY, and they know what they want. Surely, if all the major groups (save NatEx) use Best Impressions, there must be a reason why?

The Tesco Value range is now all made up 'Rustic Twee Brands' as they've worked that out most of their customers are *ahem* brand conscious.

The new livery is just nasty, the little red patch looks daft, it's very 15 years ago and the fitters will have fun whenever a bus has a bump.

If you want a Ray Stenning you go to Ray Stenning. It's solid and dependable, you'll get contrasting colours and a nice swoosh. It'll look professional, and it'll be a PITA to fit a new matching panel when a driver whacks it off a bollard.

But is there really that much alternative, save for doing it in-house? Not many other designers work in this field.

Oh definitely, though it's arguable how much is market enhancement and how much is market segmentation.

I don't like the yellow and I'm bored of the swooshing. But it's a solid livery, just BI-by-numbers.

13 new buses are due for EY this year along with 16 existing vehicles refurbished. 2 of the buses are ADL Enviro200 MMC due next month and currently in build at Scarborough, the other 11 are double deckers. The Scarborough seafront open toppers are being replaced by Wright Gemini conversions this year.

As an update to this the 2 E200MMCs are now in service. I've also had it confirmed the deckers are ADL Enviro400 MMCs.

Any idea where they heading to?

Rumour has it 3 are for Pocklington, 3 may be for Scarborough as there's talk of 3 new buses coming for there, not sure about the other 5. York Council want all buses in York to be Euro 6 from next year which is why Pocklington fleet is getting upgraded.

I've often noticed around the Hull city center an Enviro200 MMC from 2017, so I think it'll be nice to see two additional ones. :)

There are now 11 Enviro200MMC in total, the short 19 reg one is at Bridlington for the 136 and the longer one is at Pocklington for the 18s.

8 more ADL E200MMC are in the process of being delivered for Scarborough, I believe they were bought from stock. They are also the first vehicles delivered to East Yorkshire with YW registrations, all other local plates up to now have been YX or YY.

Just arrived in Consett this morning from the pleasant 689 route.

I saw a new bus here. In Green/Gold X-Lines livery with "Consett - Stanley - Newcastle" writing. I didn't get chance for a photo. Does anyone know more about this? I suppose this is a forthcoming brand not announced yet.

Guess it’s the latest x-lines after the purple and blue variations (X6/7, X21 etc).

X-lines is almost a return to the old Expresslink routes

Ps 689 is a superb route

The new Enviro 400s at Consett are for the X30 to Newcastle, there are three new ones in a green version of the XLines brand that will eventually encapsulate all of the longer distance express routes. This is already in use on routes X6/X7/X20 out of Sunderland and X21 between Newcastle and Bishop Auckland.

The rest of the express services between Newcastle and west Durham are also due to receive new vehicles but as these were Wright Streetdecks they’ve been delayed as we all know what has happened there.

The first of the new E400MMCs arrived today.
Which I had the pleasure of riding on one last Monday night in Hull to the university, I enjoyed so much I didn't want to get off. The seating colour combination, combined with the interior in general looked how I could almost describe as majestic.

The 8 additional E400MMCs for EY are due next month. Also on order are 5 Caetano Levante 3 bodied Scania tri axles for National Express contracts. 3 of these are due imminently with the others due at the end of the year, though the 3 have been delayed.
