Yes the Stadler fleet is harder from an engineering perspective for all those reasons, but operationally the EMU replacement is more difficult, partly because the new units don’t fit in some places. It is the daily operation that is suffering at the moment, which doesn’t bode well, but at least my glass is three quarters full.
Positive outlook. Glad to here it  Cheers!!

The Stadler units didn't fit in several places too, hence issues with the selective door opening, and having to put a new longer platform in at Sheringham.

The plans for through-services to London will require them too, the days of planned services down the GEML using short rural trains are hopefully long gone (I'm aware a 170 stood in for a Mark 3 set very recently)
Interestingly after the 17.00 and 17.03 departures to London yesterday I saw a 755/4 depart Norwich on test with London Liverpool Street on it's destination board. Guess its unlikely that it was making the journey but the timing was interesting? Got the pulse racing a bit too. Interesting selection of noises before it left too as it appeared to switch from OHLE to Diesel. Reckon several of them in the station at the same time 'whining' away, will make quite a row.

There is a driver training run booked to depart & follow the 17:06 Yarmouth. Would just be having a bit of fun with the PIS system. Another had 'Kings Lynn' displayed.

The engine noise will be no where near as bad as now for the majority of people as will always be at least a coach away from the concourse. Also if it's stabled for any length of time AC mode is selected.

Indeed, but there is software to deal with that, and Sheringham is a bit simpler to sort than, say, Hertford East, where the train sits on the points unless you reduce train lengths.

So with 3 more 170s apparently due to go this weekend...
Is this actually happening...? The claim was made by @168001 but I haven't been able to find any schedules on RTT - I'm thinking of just going to Cardiff Central tomorrow and Sunday just in case anything moves from Norwich...

I had a walk through a 4 car unit at Norwich today whilst waiting for my 156 to Cambridge. I have to say I think the units look very smart indeed inside.

Seven 755/4s in action today, basically all workings out of Norwich that don't interwork with the East Suffolk line.

755422/19/17/24 on Norwich - Ely
755413/16 on Sheringham / Great Yarmouth
755409 on Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft.

What's the maximum number of weekday diagrams that 755s can operate on now that they also run on Sheringham services?
Is ASDO properly working? Do they finally stop at stations that previously had to be skipped?

Thanks in advance from someone across the channel who is rather interested in new train introductions.

They can operate as many services out of Norwich as possible by the number of accepted units to be honest. Almost all Norwich based crews sign them or can be jiggled around to cover as required. ASDO is fully operational on 755s but has had some issues. A full service was reintroduced at Brundall Gardens, Haddiscoe & Spooner Row last Monday.

Any idea as to how many have been units have been accepted by GA and which ones?

Current edition of Rail suggests 755409/10/3/4/7-9/22/4 so presumably those plus one or two more - ie including 755416 that I travelled on yesterday.

There's a fair few 153s operating peak services on lines they are not suitable for tonight.

Is there a shortage of 755s again which is being replaced with 156s causign this?
