Last weekend, I did Wigan NW > Manchester P > Romiley > Sheffield > Lincoln > Sheffield > Doncaster > Leeds > Manchester V > Wigan Wallgate on the Saturday.

Sunday, I did Wigan NW > Preston > Hebden Bridge > Bradford > Leeds > Bradford > Halifax > Preston > Wigan NW.

Good range of units - 195, 150, 158, 153, 170, 331, 144.

I had one of the £10 day tickets on 9th October. My route was Littleborough - Leeds - York - Hull - Doncaster - Meadowhall, a trip on the tram-train to Parkgate and back to Rotherham (that's free for ENCTS pass holders), then Rotherham - Sheffield - Hope Valley - Manchester - Littleborough. I visited the NRM and the Hull Museum of Street Life. There was TPE 802 at Hull on hire to Hull Trains for driver training. Later we stayed on the GC line after Mexborough, instead of going round the curve to Swinton. Mine was one of the trains which regularly go this way for route knowledge purposes.

Hi all,
Well yesterday was an absolute blast, even if it was a long day.
Left Lime St 07.36 changed at Wigan North Western and caught the 08:16 to Barrow arriving at 10 (ish)
Then caught 10:22 Barrow to Carlise arriving 12:47 (ish) went for a wander to get food & drink then caught
14:40 to Leeds arriving 16:10 the caught 16:24 to Southport (which left 5 minutes left due to coming in late) and arrived home in Southport 19:07 (again 5 minutes late).
The scenery along the Cumbrian coast upto Whitehaven is stunning and so is the Settle to Carlisle Line.
Not bad for a £17:50 Rover !
(I didnt go out today as I was knackered from yesterday !)

Would have been even better value for the £10 one day ticket! Sounds a good circuit nevertheless .

I usually buy a £10 day ticket on Saturdays with no problem.

It depends on the competence of the ticket office staff. Meadowhall tried charging me £17.50 for a one day ranger midweek last time I went there. I wouldn't mind, but it even says the correct prices on the bottom of the form you give them...
