This was claimed by @168001 but still nothing on RTT. If no-one can find any schedules for this, I might just go to Cardiff Central tomorrow and Sunday just in case these 170s go through...

According to @dk1 202/204/206 will be moving "at some point" - perhaps this weekend as claimed...? :p

Right so @168001 has since said that the transfer will be 2 units, and that it's scheduled for late Sunday or Monday.

The big deal is that I like 170s, I like that TfW are getting 170s, I like seeing TfW's 170s arrive in Cardiff, and I like to capture videos of the arrival of TfW's 170s in Cardiff for my YouTube channel.

In order to do the latter two things, I need to know when I need to be there. That's why I've been requesting and getting such information. The units "coming when they come" is therefore not good enough for me.

Of course it's important that they're all in place for the timetable change; then I'll be able to get rides on them, maybe even with a friend of mine who has showed in interest in doing so. Even more important for the "normal" service users they'll benefit.

The transfers of 170207 and 170270 were indeed exciting, but personally I didn't feel any relative lack of excitement when 170272 transferred, and I imagine it will be the same when 170271, 170273, 170201, 170202, 170203, 170204, 170205, 170206 and 170208 transfer :lol:

As some 153s are now expected from Greater Anglia you won't be able to tell if it's a 153 or 170 en route from Norwich to Canton:lol::lol:

That's a very good point actually :) Luckily I like both 153s and 170s, as you might be able to tell from the train-related videos on my YouTube channel :lol:

It would seem that training on 170s has been stepped up as the evening path to Gloucester and return was used last week. It even ran additionally on Saturday in VSTP paths with 170207

Looking forward to 170202 and 170204 moving in multi as a 6-car train! Very nice to be sent that info from a source that couldn't be more direct :wub:

The movement is on the way. Perhaps it will pick up WMT 153s for transfer at Tyseley

TfW receiving their 170s is great, but we're only 5 weeks away from the first day of the TT change, and that depends on TfW recieving 9 x 153s as well (5 from GA, 4 from West Midlands)
