What is the current progress of 710 introduction on the Watford line? And when are the first 710s expected to enter service on the West Anglia lines?

Last time I heard there should be 4 trains running on DC line (ah through 3 for definite)

As for the west Anglia lines, I seen someone mentioned earlier of train times for testing but not 100% sure.

Test unit should turn up at Chingford tomorrow.

Can all the driver and other staff be done with single units (assuming still not passed for operation in multiple). Except the obvious coupling and uncoupling training. Or will training await full certification.

I know the 315s used to work as single units in late evening and all weekend in 1980s and 1990s, but doesn’t seem to be common nowadays which rather makes the 710/1 fleet useless if only authorised to work as 4car

Talking of sign off, we had our first frosty morning yesterday, what is status of using the conductor rail de-icing fitted to handful of units. Or have we reached colder weather with it still not authorised.

315s generally operate as single units outside of peak times, excluding matchdays. Generally all 4 car at the weekends.

Yes training can be done on single units, but finding circuits that only require 4 cars would essentially leave weekends only. Then there is dependence on coupling which has so far been promising but at a very basic level. So if this drags on for say more than 6 months you'd have exhausted a massive amount of resources training drivers who would fall out of complacency and need re-training. 6 months sounds a long time but the roster is over a 100 week cycle. You could easily not work a 710 for 6 months if there were 2 weekend jobs working one.

Even if you were to put in a weekend service of 710s they'd be direct replacements for 315s which would mean they would need to couple at some point for the weekday circuits. Currently there is no space for anything other than like for like. So for now, training rolls back in line with coupling progress.

Training was eared for Oct, then Nov, now Dec......

PS. Test units regularly visit Chingford is nothing ground breaking. Their main purpose is to test and commission the AVIS in the yard.

Many of the S54 had expired in the few years before that document was published hence the question to clarify the information on the remaining ones.
Chiltern 165 were upgrade related as was the 455 retractioning

Thanks, that makes sense

Seems to be one of the diagrams with a relatively early finish - last trip today 1933 Barking to Gospel Oak.

Tonight saw 710261,262 and 266 on Overground services but missed one - anyone have the ID please ???
One went into the TMD last night after conking out at Euston but I don't know which it was sorry. 61 has also been causing problems this week so you were privileged to see it actually functioning ;)

The Watford-Euston line will be fully 4tph from the 17th November! This is not expected to be fully 710 though.

Will any particular diagrams be consistently 710-operated?

Will the 710 driver training diagram be extended to off-peaks as well, or will this become mixed 378/710?

My journey to work takes me through Willesden Junction at around 11:40 most days. The 11:28 departure from Euston (not shown in timetables) was being used as a driver training run, arriving at 11:42. I haven’t seen it in recent weeks, so are we to assume all drivers that need training on the 710’s have been trained?

Training has been going on for months now, maybe just seems like a long time, but I was thinking the same that training must be close to end by now.

Still not sure why the commissioning seems to be so slow, feels like it is only about one 4car train every fortnight currently (not even sure how many are now ready, or if any of the units fitted with deicing have been certified for it to be used)
