Will any particular diagrams be consistently 710-operated?

Will the 710 driver training diagram be extended to off-peaks as well, or will this become mixed 378/710?
I personally have no clue, and like others have said I would have assumed the driver training would be completed by now. At the current rate of introduction, I'd guess the line could be fully 710 by mid-December.. hopefully!

There is no plan for it to go fully 710 at all, it will remain a mixed fleet as per earlier replies.

I thought the Watford line was completely converting (sharing the 18 dual voltage 4car units with Goblin)

Wasn't the mixed fleet going to be the 5car units (on North London and West London Lines) units 274-279

Does anyone know how many of the 18 units (256-273) are now in service

The Watford line is definitely planned to eventually convert to fully 710s. I think that post meant that it will still be a mixed fleet in December?

Whilst TfLs latest press release says the new trains will run alongside existing trains with the new full 4tph timetable from this Sunday, I assume this is temporary (as 710s are still being introduced in to service) given the plan has actually always been for the line to go fully 710.

12. Happy to be corrected but I've not seen any reports of units other than on 257/8/60-9 in service (plus 105).

Are any of 710256/9/70-3 even in London? I'm not sure there is any use for them at the moment if the Watford service is remaining with a mixed fleet.

First one went into service 4th week May, 25 weeks ago.
Only 12 have been used, that is less than one a fortnight
At this rate will be late Feb (or March) before all 18 are in service
Or perhaps May if add on the five 5car units
..... yawn

Lets hope the NE London ones are not as slow to be introduced, or follow on at same snail pace, unless they speed up will be end of 2021 by time all 710s in service

6 out of 8 for a bit longer on the dc but will increase further once more dual voltage 710 units become available. the dc may also fluctuate for a bit also with number of 710 vs 378’s so don't be surprised if you see less 710’s on some days with more 378’s and vice versa!

710103 is moving over from ilford and then will enter service on the GOB to replace 105 in due course.

other units in london currently are 710121/710123 and 710119 (non service units) joined by 108 shortly.

lots of planned testing of /1’s between now and the end of November.

Today's the day the Euston-Watford line goes 4tph.. but right now there's a half hour gap heading southbound (last train departed Watford at 11:31, next one is 12:02). Hopefully just a train not tracking?

From today, Sunday 17 November, there will be a more frequent service of four trains per hour (approximately every 15 minutes) running throughout the day on London Overground's Watford Junction to Euston line.

This builds on the four trains per hour service which has been operating during the morning and evening peak since September this year.

The more regular service is due to the introduction of additional new electric trains which offer increased capacity and frequency. You'll also find free Wi-Fi on board, real-time information screens, walk through carriages, more wheelchair spaces and USB charging points. These trains will operate alongside the existing trains.

No, it looks like one of the units is having a break for lunch!
RTT implies that it's a planned cancellation. The 11:32 arrival is still in platform 3 at Watford Junction and is planned to stay there until 15:48 when the full service will resume.

Sounds like a driver not signing the new units just yet?

I had a couple of journeys on the 710 stock this week, joining the 11:28 departures from Euston at Willesden Junction.
Have to say I’m not a fan of longitudinal seating, but the interior of the 710 seems less cramped than the 378s, and the USB points are a useful addition. Overall, I think these are an improvement... although people seem slow to realise that they need to move further along the down platform at Willesden in order to board, due to the lack of a fifth carriage!

How long before a 5th car is ordered to extend the DC units due to overcrowding? There's precedent for it with the 378s after all.

Not sure if the Goblin platforms can handle 5 cars, so maybe the need for a common fleet with the Goblin is what kept the DC units at 4 cars?

The bay platform at Gospel Oak is limited to 4 car, some newer platforms were also built to that length. Some have been shortened (although more a case of not maintained and upgraded for whole length).

Interestingly it appears Barking Riverside extension is being built with 5 car provision. Of course if some 710s are being delivered as 5 car then nothing technical to stop others being lengthened easily.

Lengthening is just limited by cost, not cheap, but possible to move the turnouts to the Gospel Oak bay. Platform extensions can be done, there is even a kit of parts to build across road bridge as was done at Kingston upon Thames, so cost is only limiting factor.

Could you reach Willesden Junction Bay Platform via Hampstead Heath (Capacity question)? If so then perhaps lengthening the Gospel Oak Bay Platform wouldn't be needed - just close it altogther?

They did manage to squeeze in the single peak extra that ran to Willesden Jn in service on completion (which stopped with electrification), but couldn’t possibly run a standard 4 tph in addition to the regular NLL/WLL services.

Presumably not with the current signalling but physically it must be possible to reduce the headway with some work - one of the problems at Willesden always seems to be the use of the turnback sidings there and clearing trains in the platform - if the terminating trains went through to Barking it would appear to reduce these conflicts.

You would then just need platforms on the through lines at Gospel Oak instead of a bay.
