Was an absolute nightmare as the next train was only 2 cars and was diverted to 13b at the last few seconds so lots of us couldn’t get on. I walked to Victoria and got the Northern one after that as those platforms were dangerously crowded as usual. I wonder if the unit with the dodgy brakes is the same one that started moving at Earlestown when people were still getting off a few months ago?

The 1715 today is pre-arranged to skip Oxford Rd due to being formed 2 vice 4

When did they announce it? You’d be pretty hacked off if you were already there. Luckily the 16:50 was only about 5 minutes late which basically counts as early for Manchester.

67013 low on fuel as it couldn’t get to Crewe last night so replaced by a 175 on the Manchester today.

The staff at Chester depot won't be trained on how to fuel a 67 - plus there isn't anybody qualified to drive trains on the depot also qualified to drive 67s.

Not quite. It operated 1H83 Chester - Manchester leaving Chester 37 late arriving at Piccadilly 38 late. It then formed the 1D34 MAN -HHD leaving Piccadily 6 late.

All was going swimmingly (sorry about that...) until we got about a mile outside Chester. The conductor had already done his announcement for passengers for connections to change at Chester. Then almost immediately he then told us that he had just been informed that the train would be terminating at Chester (in P2) due to a fault with the engine and that passengers for Holyhead should transfer across the platform to P3B for another unit awaiting for them - it was a 3 coach 175. Driver told me that the termination was due to low fuel.

When I returned through Chester station to catch the 1855 to Crewe, the 67 and coaches were still stabled in P2.

Indeed, as stated above it remained in Chester until it took over from the 175 at 20:47 to Crewe, and then went on to the shed as normal. It seemingly didn't have enough fuel to do the full diagram for the day, and that was the easiest way to get it back to Crewe. Should be back out tomorrow morning all being well.

How did it run into a West facing Bay at Chester when arriving from the East on 1D34. Did it reverse ? Appreciate a DVT in situ

Something very odd this morning with Gerald according to RTT.
Cancelled, and replaced with an ECS from Crewe to Cardiff in the same path, via Chester.

There were works on over the weekend so no trains from Llandudno Junction. Bus replacements to Holyhead.

Possibly Gerald wasn't at Holyhead to do this mornings run so it is going down to Cardiff to do the return run this afternoon and it was probably replaced with a 175 or 158 this morning.

Sorry - my mistake. It was P1 - the east facing bay on the south side of the station. So straight in.

Gerald was in Crewe over the weekend for some maintenance work. I'm guessing with the engineering work they wouldn't have been able to get it back to Holyhead ready for this morning.

The locos have disappeared this week. It’s been rammed 3-car 175s so far so roll on the 16th if we’re going to get that 4th car back again.
