I have a return portion of a London Terminals to Sheffield Super Off Peak code CJ and "via Chesterfield".
The engineering work at Bedford means a 4 and half journey on MML.

Can I use the ticket on Xcountry and LNWR via Tamworth?

The data doesn't allow via Chesterfield fares to be validated that way, though of course there are cheaper fares that are, along with the Any Permitted fare. There is nothing written on the ticket to say you should go a particular route south of Chesterfield

In practice, XC staff are likely to check the ticket before Derby anyway and are unlikely to mind. As for West Midlands Trains, if you are lucky enough to get on one that's running, be able to board it and actually have a ticket check I would be surprised, and again can't see them having an issue with it.

But journey planners can't give you a reservation unless you buy the cheaper or more expensive fares.

What about to KX via Peterborough?

the code seems to be CI on br fares. I don’t see a CJ A313E8D9-D692-418F-B5DA-16B97FA28605.png

I’m sorry for causing offence.

BRfares has no CJ restriction that I can find.

I was just thinking of a quicker way to London.

It may just be easier to travel via Doncaster; if there aren't arrangements in place to accept 'via Chesterfield' fares you just have to be prepared for the possibility that the on board staff might ask you to pay the £8.05 excess.

Perhaps you're searching for Sheffield to London? If you search London to Sheffield in BRFares you should see the Super Off-Peak tickets with CJ restriction - in this case the restriction code varies depending on which direction the outward journey is.
