Formerly Merseyrail Electrics

I somewhat took for granted this operator
and never got to photograph any until it changed hands.
I think I have one photo of an Arriva 508 in poor light at Hooton.
Ha,it was about half 7 at night lol.
I have some of Merseyrail yellow with black white n grey stripes and regional railways logos on the sides.

Would be nice to see some photos of ATM 507s n 508s with the Arriva logos if anyone cares to share.
Many thanks in advance.

They didn’t really have a distinctive livery.

They had the yellow and black Merseytravel livery inherited from Regional Railways days, which remained identical through the ME era (minus RR branding) and on into the Arriva Trains Merseyside era when they simply had an Arriva Trains Merseyside logo painted on the side in black.

In ATM days the stock always seemed particularly dirty and tatty.

The livery didn’t change until the refurbishment when SercoNedRail took over, if I remember rightly.

If you want to PM me a postal address (home/ work/ friend/ PO Box) I’ve got a DVD from 2003 showing the stock all over the Wirral line that I’ll happily send you for free. Might be able to get some decent stills from that.

If you have seen the livery I was talking about in the 142 thread then you have seen the Arrivia trains livery as they didnt change a single thing about it apart from adding their name to the trains. When they took over nothing changed at all for the most part, not from the point of view of using them every day.

BR blue and grey, yellow and white with a grey and black stripe and then the silver livery with the odd yellow one is all they have had

There was a 507/508 that was partially refurbished and painted into trial liveries (slightly different on each side) but it never saw service in this state, Arriva were stripped of the contract and it was repainted into new merseyrail livery
