The final bus shelter for the current metrobus routes is (finally) being installed. That's the one at Harry Stoke northbound.

Strange that it's taken this long, especially as there's been a shelter at Parkway North P&R westbound for months, which isn't yet served by any buses!
I see they're installing the shelter as Parkway North eastbound today.

At least they left it to last!

I'd love to know how they decided what size shelter should go where. Most are 6-panel yet some are only 4, such as Great Stoke S. Why they expect less people to be waiting there than northbound (6-panel) I don't know. Yet at Great Meadow, northbound is only a 4-panel yet southbound is 6, so the opposite!

Puikus!!! :D

Seen reported on WM bus forum “The first of the Gas buses are supposedly due in December, according to a newsletter by James Freeman on the wall in the Marlborough Street offices, complete with a mock up of one in the m3 livery, with the tagline “this is the diagram to show how the metrobus m3 livery will be applied to the first buses, expected to be delivered in December”.
The m3 will also temporarily be outstationed at the BCT Bedminster Depot until the gas refuelling station at Lawrence Hill is completed.”

Makes sense.

What are the rules on standing on Metrobus?

The driver of the journey I'm currently on has only allowed 6 standing throughout. Left loads behind in town...

I don't know if 'Metrobus' have a rule however the bus itself will have a certified number, the operator may have a different rule and, if it's a journey on a Motorway a different rule may apply. At the end of the day the driver can always apply his own rules if he believes that safety will be compromised otherwise (however he may then need to back that up to his manager later on!).

If it was an m1 you were on, then the Scanias are licensed to carry a maximum of six standing.

With the m3 gaining new CNG Scania/E400Citys, what will the existing diesel vehicles be used for?

Also, would a lower height version of the E400City be available? If so, this could make the MetroBus fleet fully CNG, could be purchased for the A1 airport flyer too?

I believe (people can correct me) that as the other Metrobus routes are based at Hengrove and the biogas buses are due entirely at Lawrence Hill, height is not the issue.

its to do with the dual door layout. Our 368xx Scania,s can only take 8 standing which is fun on the school bus service on the 37 to and from Bath.

Height is an issue on the m2 on the ex railway bridge.

Morning peak. It's almost as though HCT have been caught out carrying over capacity recently as the driver is again enforcing the 6 standing limit, and leaving even more people behind at stops than usual.

The m1 peak timetable needs a drastic re-think!

Why would dual doors affect the number of standees? I've been on countless dual-doored buses in London which have been crush loaded. Likewise the dual-doored P&R buses in Bristol don't seem to have such a restriction.

Which bit of the route is this out of interest?

What is the reason for such a low number?

It’s to do with the weight of the bus and axle loadings (same with all buses). The Scanias that have come from Nottingham only stand 1! Presumably because they’re 12m but only on two axles.

Again today's evening peak pax trying to board at Cabot being left behind.
Are you informing first about this or just putting it on here ? They have Qbusters for this very problem but if they don’t know about it they can’t move buses to the right routes !

Seen this at Bristol Parkway railway station today. Is the closure in connection with Metrobus extension works or something else?
